What kind of effect does caffiene have on metabolism, if any?

wanna use deductive reasoning on this one?

what's in an ECA stack?

Wanna quit being a jerk everytime someone has a question and you know the answer?

ECA stack, caffeine is only one of the ingrediants. Should I automatically assume that it has an effect on metabolism alone?

Depends.

ECA can increase metabolism by 5-10%, but that's not where it's primary benefits are.

well cack answered. thought that one was a no brainer. it's an adrenal stimulant.

But I wasn't even referring to an ECA stack. Im simply talking about caffeine in itself, for example drinking caffeinated coke or whatever.

caffeine is a stimulant dude.

that's why they have de-caff, so that people don't get stimulated. also why there is no-doz.

i used the ECA as an example, since it's a fat-burner stimulant. thought, you would be able to deduce the answer from that.

Well, if 1+1=3 when we're talking about caffiene and ephedrine, then the effect wouldn't be as much.

But, the effect is the same just the percentage may be lower. There is really no way of measuring as far as I know, just take the fookin ECA :)

Caffeine is a stimulant and will therefore boost metabolism.

It's not a great choice, however, for a couple of reasons.

1. it's effect are "spikey" -> come quick, leave quick
2. beyond a certain dosage, they may contribute to nervousness and therefore stress and all the associated problems (sleeplessness etc.)

I believe that Guarana addresses problem 1. but I'm not sure about 2.

hemant....i thought guarana's stimulant is caffeine?

ginseng perhaps, would give the effect your thinking of, but that's more through it's adaptogenic quality. Mate would be another good one.

Here's a biochemical explanation. There's some additional links at the bottom of the page.
