Is their an estimation of how many calories is burned per mile... I heard it somewhere around 120-140 calories is burned per mile... does this hold any truth to it? Im currently trying to bulk but being in the military am forced to run and need to make up for the calories..

Currently 5'10, 157 lbs and consuming around 2500 calories (going for slow bulk just started yesterday ( http://www.stevensjournal.com (http://www.stevensjournal.com) ), was thinking of bumping it up another 200-400 on days that I run. Any thoughts or comments?

There really is no 'set' number, I believe it's a little less, closer to 100 calories/mile, give or take depending on your body comp and the intensity of the run. How much you up your cals on running days depends how many miles you log and, again, the intensity of the run. At one point in time I was running 50 - 60 miles a week and was barely able to keep on any weight with a 4000 - 5000 calorie diet.

Im fairly certain he is correct in saying it is based upon weight and fat/mass composition. Running is the best form of pure cardio IMO, and should be part of any routine, whether cutting or bulking.
