Nope. I just tested it with the measurements I had done a week ago and it was way off. I have my bf and it was a good bit higher.

The word is callipers :)
You can get a standard pair of AccuMeasure callipers pretty cheaply. It's a worthwhile investment imo.

Can you use the calipers yourself, or do you need someone else to reach different spots on your body? (back etc.)

You need a professional to do it for you, unless you know how to make the calculations.

...The test says this:
Data entry problem.
Your right upper arm measurement is not in range for valid test results!

Yea couldn't think of it off the top of my head :-P.
Is there a website that shows you how to use them or does it come with instructions?

They come with instructions.
My Tanita scale says 22%
My Taylor scale says 12.2%
My AccuMesure Callipers says 12.7%

Here's (http://www.rustyiron.net/bodyfat.htm) the page of calculators I use. A three site test is pretty easy to do yourself, then just put the details into the calculator and it will tell you a bodyfat value. Sure, it's not as accurate as DEXA but its a pretty good estimate. Seven site is pretty hard to do yourself but you could do it with callipers with a digital display.

You can get them at Gym Equipment stores, but there are some great deals on the net. I saw some for $7 on a site once. I did not want to wait for them via mail so I got some for $19.99.
I got mine at Los Angeles Gym Equipment.
