One thing to bear in mind is that the sugar content of a banana is greatly affected by its ripeness. An unripe banana contains 80-90% starch which, as it ripens, is broken down into simple sugars.

1 bananna a day is fine as long as it fits in your daily diet.

ohhh ok, thnx for info, I'll quit bananas then, cuz i'm a carb watcher... so, what fruits do u recommend me that I can eat while Im hungry?

Strawberries are good because they are not very calorie dense. I'd recommend only eating organic however.

honestly i cannot image someone who works out who cannont handle the carbs in a banana.

Apples are also good. I usually have 1 small banana with my whey pre-workout.

what about the green sedless grapes??? is it ok If I eat about a cup of them??

03-24-2004, 03:24 PM
Grapes are good, but they have a reasonably high sugar content.

Resveratol, found in the skin of grapes, has anticarcinogenic properties.

Basically any of these fruit choices would be fine provided you count the calories.

Mario, bananas are fine, grapes are fine, strawberries are fine .... what matters is your overall calorie intake and macronutrient breakdown - not necessarily one specific food. Of course, if you were advanced you might be more concerned with specific foods, but by the sounds of it you are just starting out. Don't worry about eating a banana a day. They are great post workout.

I removed some posts above ... try to keep things clean guys. :)
