View Full Version : The entire world is counting on me, and they don't even know it.
Time for another attempt at a journal? sounds good.
Background- Training for Grappler's Quest on May 22nd, need to cut to 179 which is nessecary for bf purposes as well. Following a carb cycling diet outlined here. (http://www.avantlabs.com/magmain.php?issueID=15&pageID=159)
Weights 4-5x a week, with occasional HIIT and BJJ 3-4x a week. Might add a few days of wrestling if I can find a suitable club.
The only thing constant about my diet/training recently is BJJ, gym membership expired and im not renewing it but my school weightroom is open everyday now so it shouldnt be a problem.
Stats:
Height- 5'9
Weight- 193.0 (14 off)
chest/waist/thighs/arms etc- no idea, dont really care
bf- senior year partying has brought me back to 15-16 range (which is probably my setpoint) buying some calipers soon.
Lifts:
Bench- haven't attempted one in a year, expect a low number.
Squat- we'll see monday
Dead- pulled 335 for no real reason on wednesday, max probably ~365
Cardio- Needs improvement.
I'll figure out a format and make my first entry tonight.
Note: due to me getting my ass handed to me at my last tournament, mainly because i shouldve been 1 or 2 weight classes lower, everything will be as detailed as possible, id appreciate flames if i mess something up </run-on sentence>

Dieting is oh so much fun, I hates it, however, best of luck with your carb cycling and the diet. :)

It's like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
Weekend update 4/03- 4/04
No carb day saturday
Low carb sunday
No training except for a completely random set of squats.
... Saw Gothika and was thoroughly pissed off for an hour or so afterwards.
I find it hard to believe that a movie could have; a decent setting (mental institution), a good premise (girl goes crazy, kills her husband), Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz, and Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz in a shower together and still suck so much.
Waiting on some sesathin and leptigen from avant.
PizDoff: *pulls guard on multiple armed attackers*
Rookie: Thanks. as much as dieting sucks, its better than being a fat mess.
Gal: Since you're good w/ this stuff, can you reccomend any songs from their first album , before the name change and everything?

Got my leptigen and sesathin today.
Full update tonight.
Quick update:
Ate over maintenance slightly on wednesday and by about 500 cals yesterday.
Starting the avant products today and increasing my deficit a good deal.
Had a mediocre DE bench workout due to lifting alone.

Sick on senior spring break... aint that some ****.

Nice work on those Box squats, Wu.
4/21/04
No Carb Day
Diet:
1: 2 scoops vanilla nitrean in water, 2 FOC
2: ~6oz Chicken Breast, 2 FOC
3: Chicken hot dog (8p,3f)
4: ~6oz chicken breast, ~.75oz mozzarella cheese, 1oz low carb whole grain bread
5: the chicken i'm about to eat, ~4 oz. 2 FOC
Totals:1144
Fat: 34 305 28%
Sat: 9 82 8%
Poly: 3 28 3%
Mono: 7 64 6%
Carbs: 11 34 3%
Fiber: 2 0 0%
Protein: 188 752 69%
Training
2.5 hours sub wrestling/BJJ
Pharmies: 3 servings sesathin, 2 servings leptigen rebirth, 1000mg vitamin c, 1 multi.
Other: 18 days of high school left, the senioritis i contracted freshman year will probably set in hard. Despite being sick and incredibly somnolent I moved around fairly well in BJJ.
In more important news, the teen heavyweight cutoff is 169 not 179 as i previously thought. Therefore I am cutting for purely aesthetic purposes since 169 in a month is not a good idea.
Weight(despite ****ty diet, and one* party over spring break): 191.2
*someone clearly hexed me, I'm never sick for a full week.
Patty: Thank you sir.
Bench tomorrow, anyone reading should get a healthy self esteem boost.
well, updates (and unfortunately training) have been sporadic.
Today
Diet
3 Egg whites, 1 egg
1.5oz low carb bread (really just holds the sandwich together)
5oz turkey, 1tbsp mayo
6 oz chicken breast
3tbsp natty pb
2 scoops nitrean, 8oz apple juice (no idea why this is here)
Totals: no idea.
Training
BJJ- 2.5 hours
Squats, 3x275x5 felt terrible, I wasnt even making parallell. If anything its reason to be more consistent and make sure my form hasnt slipped.
I was thoroughly pissed off at this point and squatted up from 135-285 w/ the other kids squatting. tried to go extra deep but was probably just breaking parallell if that on the higher weights.
Other: I was sufficiently depleted today, and had 3 hrs of (bad) sleep, this may have been a factor.

Yes, sleep tends to help. ;)
I've got work to do so quick update.
Weight room was closed when i got out of school, waited til i had to go. As a result of this i had to use my stepdad's bowflex (i haet that damn thing). so...
Seated ghey bowflex rows: all of those annoying rods x 85 total reps
Bunch of pushups, wide and narrow.
High carb day
Protien, a significant amount
Fat, mostly fish oil
Carbs, a lot.
Pharmies
the usual.
brevity is my friend.
Rookie: sleep... is that the thing that involves me staring at my ceiling for hours on end and eventually playing fight night 2004 til my body stops functioning?
just letting everyone know i'm not dead, 6 days left of high school been kinda busy.

Oh yes! Somebody else on this board besides me listens to Norma Jean. I hang out with a couple of guys that know everything about the band. I'll try and get you a list of some good songs, back when Norma Jean was Lutacris. If I could recommend some other groups you may want to take a look at, UnderOath, Emory, Showbread, Brand New. All of these groups make some awesome music. Good luck with your goals by the way.
1 final tomorrow, upon completion high school = pwned.
