sugar = heartburn???

okay i'm really prone to heartburn. i've been noticing it recently, and it does not respond well to tums as it usually does. i also recently started taking generic weight gainer that is LOADED w/ sugar. could this be related?

Could be, but I kinda doubt it. I have acid reflux and I went to the doctor to get on Prevacid, it made a world of difference. It is spendy though, if you don't have health insurance that will cover it. I suggest you see your doctor if your heart burn is reoccuring, it can be quite damaging. What other supps are you taking, also, diet makes a huge difference, alcohol is brutal if you have acid reflux.

i take whey, weight gainer, fish body oils, creatine, vit c, multis, diet pills w/ eph, and eat like 3000K daily. ya alcohol definitely hurts it. i was under the impression that the medicines, like prilosec, would only stop the pain, which i have been able to deal with. you're saying that they are actually preventing damage?
