I recently purchased a container of Nitro-tech protein power...
As soon as I got it home my parents took it away due to the fact that the lable mentions creatine monohydrate in it. Apparently creatine is the devil in my household....
someone with great knowledge and years of experience explain to my parents that there is like almost less than half a gram in a serving! Thats like a couple of roast beef slices! This is a PROTEIN supplement NOT a creatine one!
the more help the better...they're REALLY stubborn about this!
Thanks guys!!!

how would you like someone to explain this to your parents?

I just need some help telling them that this tiiiny amount of creatine won't effect me. Most docters recomend a 3-5 gram dose to even boost your natural creatine levels. And to top it off it's creatine MONOHYDRATE....which means in reality even 1 gram is only about 85% creatine.
I just need some back up...thats all.

They don't even know anything about this kind of stuff...
they read and see CREATINE and say ohhhhh thats bad.
I just need someone to inform them about the safety....especially in close to none amounts in a PROTEIN powder.
why did you show it to them, I would have kept it hidden in my younger years.... nothing that you or anyone here says is going to change your parents opinion..(that is why they are parents ,,ha ha ha ) ... I would suggest calling your family Dr and see if he/she thinks "its ok" and then have him/her talk to your parents, the next time you go for a check up or something.

Why keep it hidden? Nothing wrong with it. Your body produces its own creatine. Creatine is found in beef products as well. So, might as well have them not cook anymore beef if that's the case.

Have your parents give me a call on my cell phone at (434)882-1291. I would be happy to speak with them in person.
Otherwise, here are a few vaild points:
1) Creatine occurs naturally in foods. You get more creatine in a healthy portion of steak than in that supplement.
2) Creatine has never been shown to be harmful to healthy adults.
3) Creatine may act as an antioxidant.
In understand your parent's position, they are concerned for you and your health. They are also the victims of misinformation and ignorance on the subject.

simple solution
don't waste your money on Nitrotech and get some pure protein powder like www.AtLargeNutrition.com 's products

the only thing bad about Nitro-tech is the price!
I got it because there was a big sale! (which saved me lots!!)
I just wanted to try something other than GNC 100% vanilla whey.
thank you chris and everyone else that replied.....
Keep it comin'....

Ohhh and J C....
the reason I didnt care if they saw it was that is is a PROTEIN supplement....personally I have never wanted to take straight creatine (dont know why, just feel no need to dish out more $) I'm getting good gains with just protein.

Sound familiar to me, im 22, so my parents didn't bother, anyway my mother knows that if i take something, i know what it is, and the effect. I live with my girlfriend in the basement (transformed in an appartement) of her parents, to make it short, they thought i was taking drugs, for them creatine was simmilar to Anabolic stuff, but legal... i had hard time "prooving" them creatine is totally safe. But they do understand now, i need creatine to reach my goals since i dont eat that much meet... well not like i should. Just like my girlfriend cant drink milk or eat any sub products, so she take calcium supplements every morning, just like the doctor said. And even if im not an expert on the subject, all i can say is that i never heard of any horror story from creatine (well from any credible source). On the opposite side, its dangerous to eat too much of some vitamins, have your parents to read this link.

And have your parents to give Chris a call... he is, i think a very credible source. or have them read some articles on the internet, or even this forum... theres so much myths about supplements. But it just prooves you have good parents.
