View Full Version : Olympic Judging

This question has kinda been bothering me for a while...Is depth judged during an olympic lift? If somebody did a powerclean instead of a full clean, would it be red-lighted? I understand that more weight is possible while doing a full clean, but I'm just curious.

This (http://www.iwf.net/sport/con_rul/technical_rules.html) list the rules out pretty well. Depth isn't a factor just as long as your butt doesn't touch the platform you're fine even if you don't bend the knees.

Thanks man, that was bugging me for the longest time.

Yeah, actually, Olympic lifters used to use the split style as opposed to the squat style they use now.

I tried that once, felt incredibly weird, most likely because I have never done it.
