i was looking to drop like 4 or 5 lbs. in the next 3 days. i'm probably just going to go 0 carbs and high-protein and keep fat low also for the next few days. what do you guys think? i'll go low sodium also, but about water. should i keep drinking a lot of it? or maybe on the last day not drink anything as to keep off water weight? and maybe how much cardio should i do? just looking for you guys' input on the idea.

if its to make weight then id understand 5lbs in 3 days, couldnt see it being useful for aesthetic purposes.

You definately won't lose 5 pounds of fat in 3 days. You may lose that much in water weight. Just cut carbs and do high volume depletion workouts.

its to make weight for a sport. i know most of it will be water, i just wanna make sure that 5 lbs. leave me.

Cut out all carbs, jack up your water intake, use a mild diuretic like caffeine or dandelion.

I used to cut out liquids at 2pm if I was getting weighed at 8am the next day

Cut your carbs man but dont go low carb AND low fat. I think low-carb for 3 days will lose you 5lbs of water.

yea, im on ripped fuel w/ ephedra. i'm getting weighed in thursday at 6pm. i've been at 0 carbs for 2 days now and got 2 days left. i figure on thursday i wont eat or drink anything, doing this for one day wont kill me.

well weigh in was at 7pm on thursday night. the sport was tug of war for greek week for fraternity. i started at 186 on monday and weighed in at 173, i don't know what happened but it worked. i ate straight protein on mon-weds and didn't eat or drink anything on thursday. that also included a trip to the sauna and steam room on wedsnesday. i did it and then thursday night i went out and ate like a champ. i don't ever wanna cut like that again.

I hope you don't. No fat or carbs...ouch...dunno why you cut the fat out. I don't really think it was necessary to starve yourself for a full day. I mean, it's just tug of war man, hehe.

well we had the competition today (friday) and we won it all, beat all other fraternities. and by the way i must've eaten about a 2000 calorie meal last nite cuz i was so damn hungry. i just kinda ate well before the competition today 2 packets of oatmeal and an apple, then a banana and a protein bar right before the match. it was insane, you might say its just tug of war, but if you've never seen fraternity tug of war, its definately something else. o yea, and the cut was pointless because our team (8 guys) weight limit was 1415 lbs. which is about 175 each, and we ended up at 1364, meaning i didn't have to put myself through all that, but i did anyways. well i figure now that i'm off of that cut, here comes the creatine and bulking again. i'm gonna try m5 creatine which is a buffered creatine instead of a creatine monohydrate...any thoughts?

Yah, but starving yourself for a day was totally unnecessary, elimination of carbs and a high volume workout would have done the trick.

04-18-2004, 12:26 PM
yea, but i was definately feeling lazy and didn't wanna do the workout. actually i tried to lift but has no energy to do it. i found myself struggling to put up 3/4 of the weight that i usually would.

Not supposed to be able to put up as much weight on a high volume workout. The point isn't to max, it's to deplete muscle glycogen.
