I'm going there next month. Who lives near there and is willing to drink copious amounts of alcohol with me.

Going for some software training, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of free time.

I'm about 2 hours from there. I fear the Bay Area, twice a year for baseball games is about it for me. Should be easy to find some kinky bars though. Walk around naked in body paint and you should fit right in.

San Mateo sucks... box-store malls and overpriced houses

Get a rental car and head to Folsom, you can hang with teh Budiak.

Or even just go hang in San Jose. Personally, I like San Jose better than San Fran.

Must be my blue collar roots or something.

San Fran is terribly overrated.

I live 10 minutes from Budiak. but he hates me.

I think the Blue Oyster is around there somewhere.

I thought the whole city was the blue oyster.

I will not be going to any bars with words such as blue, oyster, flaming, sailor, or reach-around in it's name.

I'm about 4 hours south of San Mateo. I'm always willing to drink copious amounts of alcohol though. And eat copious amounts of food. :burger:

I know this might get me in trouble.

However, it's all in good fun.

Why ELP, not secure enough in your masculinity?

San Francisco sucks. Last time Budiak and I tried to grab some clam chowder and couldn't even get to the wharf from all of the damn traffic. Go to Pacifica. There's a Taco Bell right on the beach. :D

Allen, I just prefer women at my drinking spots, maybe guys with assless chaps is more along your lines, but count me out! ;)

DG, I don't know if I'll rent a car or not. It's still a work trip so I'm pretty much stuck there, but I'm sure I'll have nights off. Thought there might be some members nearby, mebbe not.

You can always try bribing teh Budiak to drive down there. If it's not San Francisco he might be down. haha

****in A I'll do it. When's the business trip scheduled for?

Pete, you're talking to a couple of guys who drove 4 hours from Sacramento to South Lake Tahoe to enjoy the novelty of smoking a cigarette while eating soup inside a restaraunt, and then drove back home in the same night.

San Mateo is like remedial road tripping, man.

I'd love to see Webb there, too. I live 10 minutes from him...but he hates me :(

Cool, I think I will fly in May 16th or 17th, and probably be there till the 19th or something like that. Haven't been given the details yet. I might get to rent a car on the company, not sure though. Last guys did but they were there for a week.

Pietro -- you should be able to rent a car -- just the taxi costs from the airport to San mateo and/or your hotel alone will more than justify the cost. Only problem IMHo would be if there are multiple people from your office that are going and you are somehow expected to carpool/etc.

Dunno what your company's policies are like either but I usually upgrade the car on my own dime... get the company to commit to a midsize or fullsize 4-door rental (taurus/etc.) . Then spring a coupla bucks per day outta your own pocket and BANG, you have a convertible or pimp SUV or whatever you wanna drive. I usually go for the convertible. Last time I checked, Alamo was using Mitsubishi Eclipse Spiders for their convertibles, which are nice little cars.

Well, I'm in training right now in Cali. Missed my flight, but it had to come back for maintenance, so I managed to sneak on. Unfortunately, my luggage didn't. Hopefully it'll be here later today.

Budiak, your PM box was full so couldn't reach you. If you still wanna come by lemme know either here or via PM. I'm at the Hilton Garden Inn just off fashion blvd or whatever it's called.

Anyway, it was warmer in toronto, and it's ****ing windy as hell here. Other than that, things are just plain boring as expected. Bleh, here on my own, only one fat chick in the class and she's from the area, so I don't even have others to hang with. I anticipate getting drunk in the hotel bar watching hockey or something if nothing else materializes today.

I'll check back later on another break. Why couldn't the training PC's have net access.

Bleh, on break. Today there are 10 ppl in the class, and they all suck too. Although, i didn't expect a bunch of party people in a technical software course.

Just got my suitcase last night at 9pm. So it's nice to be able to shave and wear clean clothes again. Actually went at lunch yesterday and bought some stuff to wear. I need to find a gym, or a ripper bar or something. It's pretty dull here. I shoulda just drove to san jose and bought a ticket to the hockey game.
