i know that we need to increase our intake in fiber...i was wonering would it be ok if i take a serving of metamucil wiht protein shake in the morning as my fiber intake???

there is no set... but i manage to get about 50 grams at 3000 calories.

beans and bran have a lot. but most vegtables fruits whole grains have a decent amount.

yea but if u eat beans get the fresh kinda cause the canned beans contain the same caloires but half of the fiber is lost umm so if i take metamucil i would have to go crap constantly cuase isnt that wut its for?

50g is plenty man. I think like 30 is a reasonable amount to shoot for. JMO.

there is a difference between fiber and a laxative.
if your not sure what these things are then why do you want to take them?

nah becaue sometimes i cant get enough fiber so i figure if i take a medamucil i can get the fiber i need..now the question is is it a laxitive??

you should probably check your diet if you need a supp to get enough fiber

The purpose of metamucil, which is a fiber supplement, is not to make you crap constantly. It is to promote regularity. If fiber made us crap constantly, you'd be crapping just eating most good carb sources (i.e. wheat bread, brown rice, oats).

i think 25g a day in fiber is a solid goal for the everyone here. upwards of that just means even more time on the toilet when you could be in the weight room!

i didnt say he had to eat 50 i said that is usually what i end up with by the end of the day.

oh ok im a shoot for 35-50 grams cause right now im only getting around 15 and 25 the days i eat beans
