Has anyone ever heard this before ?
Or am I rambling on old news

It's been debated quite a bit. On one hand, yes, it's beneficial to eat after you train. On the other hand, there are so many other factors and happenings in daily life that any gains would be pretty hard to measure. Bottom line - I wouldn't worry about it too much.
