Abdominal workouts, Cardio, and eating right (on top of weight lifting).

Abdominal workouts won't make you lose fat. Diet is what gets rid of the gut -cardio can help, but it's primarily your diet.

The most important key to losing fat is your diet.

A calorie deficit.
One where you're losing no more than 1 lb per week would be best for minimising muscle loss.

Can't spot reduce. Want abs to show, lose the fat on top of 'em.

The wife and I are getting ready to start the Ultimate Diet 2.0 next week. That's supposed to be a good fat burner.
Do a search on this board for Ultimate diet 2.0.

UD 2.0 takes a lot of dedication and micro management of things. It's not an easy diet to do between the depletion workouts and extreme deficits. If you've hit a plateau or think you can handle it, go for it. But, otherwise, a simple balanced diet with caloric deficit will do the trick, especially if you're very new to lifting and dieting.
