I did a search and was looking through all the threads about oils, and saw since you guys love answering questions about this stuff, i'd ask a couple. i'm not trying to make this a long thread, so short, accurate answers are all i'm asking for.

1. i just bought flax seed oil caps, how much should i take daily?

2. what is the ideal oil to cook foods with (what oil will not become hydrogenated b/c obviously i don't want the trans fatty acids)?

1) I'd go fish oil over flax due to conversion efficiency, but flax is ok as a second. :)

2)I'd go w/Extra virgin olive-oil.

i know fish is better but i already bought the flax seed oil, i'll buy fish caps next time. but how much should i take daily?

depends on how much you weigh....80-140g of total fat should do the trick for most people...
mono/poly/sat split of 3:2:1

2tbsp of flax per day would be good. I think that would be about 28g of total fat...

I think they reccomend 3 but I was taking like 5 or 6 as at the time it was one of the only sources of EFA's I was getting. It seems to work well for fat mobilization. Depends on your EFA intake, if your getting fat from other sources take less. I was taking 10-12g's of fish oil. Flax has poor conversion as well as other known risks, so I personally don't take it.

that's why I use the oil

Yea caps just aren't efficient, go for a bottle of oil next time.

Cook with olive oil but keep the heat as low as possible.
