Hi there, I was wondering if reducing your caloric intake and doing only a little cardio would be good to lose fat. Be aware that I am losing 1-1.5 pounds per week.

Diet is the key. Cardio is good too, depending on how much fat and how quick you want to lose it. But focus on your diet and weights and you'll lose. If you stop loosing start adding a little cardio in as well.

I am 6'2 260 pounds, my calorie intake is suppose to be 3709 or so, I figure if I drop that to 2500, and do my daily routine, then I mightn lose some good weight.

Thats a bit much. Maintenance level for you (@15Xbw) is approx 3900 calories (fairly close to your calculations). At 260 lbs you should start at 12Xbw or 3120 calories and adjust as necessary to loose 1-2 lbs a week (that's a calorie deficit of 3500-7000 calories per week). Any more of a deficit and you will loose a lot of muscle. I know you probably want to loose a lot of weight fast but do not loose sight of the bigger picture. You want to loose fat (not muscle) and keep it OFF which means slow and steady. What's your daily routine btw? weights? cardio? none of the above?

use cardio to supplement weight loss, but diet is the most important aspect.

Get your diet in check, and eat at least 3k a day. Anything less and you will probably stall.

there's a reason that most people post saying that diet is key and not to go under 12xBW for cutting. they're right! i also back these guys up in what they're saying.
