Well i got about 8 weeks to get into comp shape. Im gonna enter a contest on july 10. I hope to cut about 15-20 more lbs for the show which would put me at about 145. Heres my current pics. Yall can laugh at my white ass legs

the last couple. I know i need to get a lot leaner. Once the cut is over im going to focus on traps and legs.

It doesnt look like you have 20lbs of fat on you man, maybe 10-12(?) and you will be really cut. I dont know anything about competing though so you may be right. You look pretty lean though...

btw a 3 point caliper test had me at 8.6..but ive heard there usually low by up
to 3 %????

If you can see you abs you have less fat. Very lean. Not competition lean, but on the right track. Look very good Nic. Whatever you are doing, keep at it.

Dont know what you`re doing or how you do it, but keep it up. You`re certainly on the right track. Keep posting pics on your improvement and let us know how it went at the comp.

Nic, I don't trust any of the bodyfat percentage testing methods that would be available to you. Forget about that. You should also forget about losing a certain number of pounds. Go by what you see in the mirror and your waist measurement. If you measure your waist first thing when you roll out of bed in the morning, it can be used as an excellent guage of your fat loss (smaller waist = less fat).

You are quite lean now and losing 20 lbs on your frame would involve the loss of a lot of muscle.

I think you should lean up a bit more, but be careful to lose that fat slowly and to minimize your loss of muscle.

I assume you will be doing a teen show? If so, you are not far from contest condition. You have to understand that you cannot look like the guys in the magazines without taking drugs (varying from steroids, to growth hormone, to thyroid medication, to diuretics), nor should you want to as they are very unhealthy at the point they get onstage.

Getting lean... but if you lost 20 lbs there'd be nothing left of you. After this show, I'd certainly consider bulking for a LONG time to get some mass.

Once you get this diet over with, you'll definitely gain big time. There's always a nice post show rebound.

heres a new back double bi. The lighting isnt great but whatever i guess. Im up to 170 now and i reckon im around 10% bf give or take a bit. My arms really kill the pic i think, theyre really lagging. Ill try to get some new quad pics in the next few days

A 285 bench for someone who weighs 165 lbs is pretty damned good. Keep it up.

doctorcod-my whole back routine is rows, weighted chins, shrugs, and deads. I think the weighted chins do the most for my lats.

shooter-ya i feel like im built for bench with my short ass arms. Actually im just now considering stopping benching and doing only weighted dips. I feel them much more in my chest, and bench isnt really building my chest up much. I get stronger without gaining much size.

You have a good base. You need to work on your posing. Check out bodybuilding.com. They have a series of short vids about posing. You can hit a much better lat spread with a few changes.

Unfortunately no link is really going to help with the rear lat spread. It's just a horrendously tough pose to fine tune. Actually working with someone in person that knows what they're doing is the best way. That and practice, practice, practice.


By the way, you're looking good. I don't think your arms are really lagging either. Perhaps you just need to supinate your forearms inwards (palms facing one another) during your rear double bi pose.

and by chins you mean with palms facing away from you right? cuz towards you would be a bicep exercise...

ya i do them palms facing away. Altho i feel like even with a curl grip your bis are still only being hit secondary to back. and these are done with weight strapped to my belt.

my routine is twice a week

Front Squats
W. Chins
BTN Press

and on my 2nd day

W. Dips/bp
bb rows
Deadlifts

on two of my off days i do a variation of a clean and press for 4-6 sets.
