View Full Version : GNC 100% Whey Protein - Chocolate - DARN GOOD!
Hey, I just picked up a 6lb jug of this using my goldcard for 29$ expected crap, but I put it in the blender with some milk and a couple bananas and it was the BEST (protein or non protein shake) i have ever had in my life. Better yet, its essentially no fat and no carbs, and its just pure whey protein, nothing else... take a look at the ingredients if you dont beleive me.. I say its a good buy!

6lbs for only $29 is a great price, especially for a large retailer such as GNC. The good taste is a nice bonus.:)

Yeah I got 100% whey from GNC for that price too. It dissolves good and taste decent as well (I got the Wildberry flavor). I use to get EAS and that was crap compared to this GNC stuff

Damn, it's been a while since I've heard someone give GNC a compliment.

Even longer since someone has remarked that "they have a good price".

GNC 100% Whey Chocolate has always been my favorite, i just recently switched to atlarge nitrean chocolate but I have not gotten used to it yet, i miss my gnc. I will tell you one thing though, since using nitrean I actually feel a bit better and my performance in the gym is stepping up a bit. Now, there are other factors but i started nitrean the day i stopped creatine and nothing has changer really so I am very pleased. Its a bit early to tell but right now I would say nitrean is a better protein but i don't think it tastes as good.

That really surprises me Chris, the chocolate Nitrean, to me, tastes better than anything I have ever tried. I have not tried the GNC product, but if it tastes as good or better than ours it must taste darn good indeed.

At that price I'd be skeptical about the quality. But then again I'm Canadian.

Nitrean is mighty tasty. There is only one powder that I've had that is better, but each scoop had 24g protein +32g sugar!! I'll take a little less taste than a lot of sugar any day of the week.

It's $29 because during the first week of each month GNC gives you 30% off just about everything in the store if you are a goldcard member. So, that's when I buy most of my stuff when I shop there.

Chris, I know, I hate to say it but i had grown very accustomed to the taste of 100% whey. I have been using the Nitrean though and like I said before I honestly do feel better in the gym. Also, 100% whey had other sides for me, gas, runs, bloating, etc. I have experienced none so far with Nitrean. So, while my previous comment may not be atlarge testimonial worthy I still think you have a better product. Also, almost everyone else loves the taste :).

Lol, thanks man, I appreciate the clarification. No worries, I appreciate your true opinion. We can't realistically expect everyone to love our product's taste the best. In the overall sense we have been thrilled with people's reaction to the taste. We couldn't have asked for more.

i had gnc's mega whey protein in vanilla and it tasted terrible. i haven't tried the 100% pure whey in any flavor besides strawberry, and that was not great either. I currently have Nitrean in vanilla and like the taste a lot! the only thing is that when i shake it up, it still has clumps which isn't all that convenient. i haven't tried blending it yet, but in terms of just shaking it, i've had better proteins that dissolve more effectively.

I take optimum and I like it a lot. Good taste and effective.

My manager at GNC told me this, but she didn't know anything about sports nutrition supps. The GNC whey and the optimum whey are packaged in different places though.

Hrm.. interesting. I'm sure either way you'd get a better deal ordering from certain sites that sell optimum whey, rather then going to GNC.

Really? The only tub of GNC whey I got (vanilla) tasted like crap when mixed with water, yet all the ones from Optimum I have bought don't taste as bad.

Yeah I thought the same thing when comparing GNC's whey to Optimum, but my friend knows the manager of a local GNC and thats what he told him. Either way, I think Optimum whey tastes better then the GNC 100% whey.

they do seem to keep it open for "****s and giggles", have uneconomical prices to maintain their brick and mortar business... I haven't bought any GNC product in about 2 years... that is around the same time I started to frequent boards like these... yes I do miss the 5lb Mega Whey Strawberry... but getting a 10 lb bag for the same price from optimum nutrition for about $45 makes me happy...
if you are smart enuff to post here, save some money by researching and buying your stuff online...
GNC is to the nutrition Industry what Gateway is to the Desktop/Laptop Market.
Yes and there are upsides to Gateway, as in tech support which you cannot get very well if you buy off ebay. At GNC if you don't like your stuff you can get money back as long as the product is not expired. I don't buy my stuff from there, but I did work there and they have more than enough customers to keep that place with a thick wallet.
