View Full Version : Cutting... question about distribution of calories

I'm currently dropping about 1lb per week eating ~1900 calories. I'm 178lbs.

From 7:30am until 5:00pm, I get about 1000 calories and eat 4 seperate times. I'm at work sitting at my desk with a 3 minute walk up to my car (totals about 12 minutes of walking throughout the day, also includes about 30 steps both ways). I usually eat a bigger dinner (around 500-600 calories) which comes right before my workout. After that I just eat some lean protein (usually a shake) and maybe a small snack.

My question is, should I be concerned with the 1000 calories while I'm working through the day? Is that too low? I do feel a little hungry through the day, but it's not overwhelming. I go to bed at 11:30 so during the day I get about 100 calories per hour, and after 5 I get about 140. Thanks!

if you are losing 1 lb a week i would say you are on the right track.
