confused again by someone

I spoke to an “experienced” lifter who works with someone from my familys work and he said I should be eating 50% carbs, 40% protein and 30% fat. Does that seem right, I thought it should be 40% protein, 30% carbs and 30% fats, seeing as I am cutting.

People are different. You need to find out what works for you. Personally, I have the best results with a 50%P/30%F/20%C

Results will vary by individual. Experiment and see what your body responds to.

yah we all go for different ratios
personally my intake is more like
39% fat = 120g
36% protein = 250g
26% carbs = 180g
for a total of 2770 calories which I split into 6-8 meals per day

I think the big things that I've found in my diet are that I can't go below:
60g of fat, testosterone seems to shut down + depression kicks in
150g of carbs, I become very lethargic and don't have energy in the gym
I'd rather not even come close to these numbers.
plus I've found I can lose fat easily with these ratios between 8-16% bf.

No it doesn't seem right, it adds up to 120%.

Your experienced lifter apparently can't add. I'd be weary of taking his advice =P.

Is there anyone that is taking more carbs than fat while cutting?

Same here pretty much, although most of my carbs come from whole wheat bread, white rice, powdered milk, and dextrose(postworkout).
