I've been using this product because it has 32 grams of protien and all the guys at the store recomend it ( i know I shouldn't belive what they say, but its not the most expensive product) anyway I was wondering why it is so high in fat it has 8 grams of saturated fat and 18 grams of fat. does anyone know about this or more about the product by the way its made by cytosport.

One more thing while I'm on the topic, Cytomax anyone know what it is and what it does, if it works?? thanks guys http://cytosport.com/products/musclemilk_info.html

The fat comes from the medium chain triglycerides (MCT). They are metabolized differently than most other fats due to them being medium chain. I won't get into all the science of it as I'm not really sure how to word it myself, but it is especially useful on ketogenic diets as MCTs tend to serve as an energy source in replacement of the lack of carbohydrates. I've heard of some studies showing MCTs to improve fatty acid mobilization, but haven't looked them up, personally.

its high in fat so your body will get used to fat intake and start to metabolize it better. muscle milk has no trans-fatty acids so you know that the fats are good fats for the most part, the unsaturated ones at least.

I don't see how this is physiologically sound

any explanation appreciated
