New journal, new goals :strong: I decided to call this one the next step because the short term goals from my old journal were achieved:) I finally feel like my body is starting to even out. When I first started training, I never squated because lack of equipment/knowledge. Since then my lifting proportions have started to get on track(i.e squatting more than I bench etc..). I won't be benching/dips for a little while because of reoccuring pain in my forearms after sets. I had this a while back and had to switch to dbs and drop dips completely. Had a nice workout today, so that's where I'll begin.

Incline DB Bench Press

60 x 15 I really need to get to the store to grab some more dbs, if they weren't 60 bucks a pair I'd already have em

60 x 15 I think I'm going to grab some 70s at Dicks this week so I can get into my norm rep range.

Kickbacks

35 x 9

35 x 9 Not a big fan of these, but without dips and close grip whatta gonna do.

Cable Pressdown

70 x 11

70 x 12 Nice and strict form

ATF Squats

185 x 7

185 x 6 Felt very nice, my favorite exersise by far. REally improving on these by the session.

Calf Raises

185 x 10

185 x 10

Not a lot of volume here. Everything is getting worked twice a week with my routine and it seems to be working well for me. One thing I really need to reincorporate is direct ab work. I haven't done abs in 5 months I'd say.

It's good to see you start another journal.

I had the same problem you did with dumbells for many months. I own a hex set but they only go up to 40lbs. I ended purchasing these http://www.newyorkbarbells.tv/im-0030.html (the 18inch ones)

You can load up to 145lbs on each dumbell, 14 10lb plates on each side. If you wanted to you could load 355lbs per dumbell using 25lb plates. That's probably more than you need though, this would let you go real heavy on shrugs etc. Plates are fairly inexpensive, a 10lb plate at walmart is about $5 with tax. My only regret is not buying these earlier, well worth it. Hex dumbells are much nicer but the price is expensive, especially if you want dumbells that go over 100lbs.

I'm sorry to hear about your forearm pain, I recall reading a thread about it a while ago, I hope it feels better.

Thanks man, appreciate it. Those dumbells look ace, I have one of them that a friend gave me, so I would just need to purchase a single one. I have some of those smaller weights too, about 85lbs worth so I would just need a little more. The dumbells I have been buying are the gray non adjustable ones, that are all once piece and fixed weight. That's why they are so expensive :( I'll def. pick up another one of those dumbells.

Wide Grip Chins

bw+20 x 6
bw x 9
bw x 6
bw x 9 (curl grip)

Dumbell Shoulder Press

55 x 7
55 x 7 Hopefully going up to 60 soon.

Hammer curls

35 x 12
35 x 9
35 x 9

Nice and quick and felt good. I did a few sets of shrugs after @ 225. My shoulders seem to be moving along faster with dumbells than when I was doing military presses, which is fine with me.

Nice pressing, really good strength there, I'm using 50's now. Do you do them standing or sitting just curious? I do them standing, just because I've gotten used to it.

Dumbell Bench Press

75 x 8 personal best here, finally able to add more weight thanks to dedicated

75 x 7

incline db bench

60 x 5

60 x 5 little more tired than usual here now that I can finally go all out on flat

Tri pressdowns

60 x 10

60 x 10 I kind of have a unique form for these based on what my equipment looks like, but it really hits em hard

ATF squats

185 x 8 personal best, looking to up weight next time

185 x 7

Threw in some calf raises afterwards but nothing to brag about- pretty exhausted today after workout. I didn't get to bad till about 4:30 last night but atleast I slept in. Need more sleep tonight
