Yeah bill, it really sucks at times!
Today I was up at 5:00 A.M. - and I don't get to go to bed till 8:00 A.M. tomorrow. Not too bad I guess, 27 hours awake and working the whole time....

Well it sounds like your doing well in the financial or life things. Just figure out a little time to enjoy it. It does feel good when you can move forward on some projects or whatever though.

Im actually working out now!
Im staying at camp at work and theres a gym there so I get to lift weight and do cardio.
everyday working out, 10 mins bike, weights, 10 mins bike done.

no more stays in camp with gym access. but...........
I'm finally pulling the plug on my rediculous overtime hours. Had my breaking point where I said its time for me to start living life. I accomplished what my goals were though, be pretty free to do as I please $$ wise. I put down a large sum of cash on the stock markets when they were at the bottom, Today it moved up a little and im up $2000, so I'll let that sit and mature/grow. I have a raise coming sometime soon too, very nice one, 10% of so! And I'm officially back to the gym! For real;)

Hams have had pretty good/bad doms the last few days, I'm on shift now so I won't be lifting till next wednesday, I was going to be using the Rower in the morning before work but I've been up late the last few nights......and the next few to come. For good reasons at least ;)

late, late, late night last night, plus earlish get up = totally exhausted today. Business side of me is coming out......going to be firing my property managment firm. I had to do every task that they were assigned by me. Everything from marketing my property to writing the lease with special conditions in it. and they still expect a 10% cut of my rent cheque's.....**** them!
On the plus side though, I am loving life right now! In all aspects. Don't get me wrong though, I may have stopped working so much overtime but I am still at work for about 60 hours a week, plus running my rental business, and finally getting to go out too,

Great workout! Felt totally refreshed for it, took my time warming up on deads as I didn't do them in ages, the 365x5 was good, felt hard, but not heavy on any of my body parts. aka I'll be good for much more weight soon, my body's conditioned for it!
Ticker test went well too! Wasn't even breating to heavy till the last 2 or 3 rounds.
And as usual, My BW is holding but I am leaning up very nicely! Rough BF% guess would be 13%ish right now. Maybe less.
I'm off to work. Got a bunch of night shifts ahead of me.

Felt great! Sleep was sketchy so I wasn't expecting much, but I pulled through good. I had my appointment with my Property Managment company......short version is that I cancelled my contract with them. So I'm fully in charge now.

Bit pissed off for this workout. Started off pissed leaveing my place, I was on nightshift last night and I ended up sleeping through the whole day, and I won't be able to sleep later....Have to find my sleepin drugs for this one.
and I couldn't use any bikes at the gym, there ALL broke! Like ****, replace the ****in broken equipment, but no, not in fort mcmurray, everything takes 6 months longer then usual. So I'll use my rower tomorrow.
I got to the gym at near 8pm, this is when all the ****in kids/teens/******s go.
Have to work on friday and saturday too, further backing my reason to let my boss know that Im pissed off at the piss poor schedualing.
and last night I was alone in my unit at work, supposed to have 2 other people with me, and I had an extra busy night to top it off. I was dropping the 'F' bombs freely by the end of the night! ****
yeah, tomorrow should be a good workout, got some frustration to vent!

Another ****ty day :( I took my 2 pills to sleep last night/this morning, and they worked alright, slept thru most of the day - woke up at 2pm and I have to be up for 4am tomorrow morning for work. I'm sick up this ****ed up work schedule! Next week I am refusing to work any extra in the middle of my days off, ****s up my life to much.
So far on these 'days' off all I did was sleep and be pissed off. Work outs sucked to top it off.

Another great workout! Show's that all I needed was some sleep!
Bench was better then I thought after the fact, I was thinking 245x4 and 250x2 was not good, but I think my best was 250x4, so I actually didi really good today!
On stocks, I relocated $9K to HTE.UN, Harvest Energy Trust, there dividend right now is ~33% annually, and its paid out monthly! Just an FYI for those investors who read my journal. There stock had been running a steady $20=25 over the past 1+ years, and now its $10.75. So even if the stock doesn't go up at all your still getting a ROI of 33%! Hard to beat!!!

Signed up for a one year at the new gym. bench is strange....but I think that i like it. The rack the holds the bar actually glides about 6 inches towards you to help you lift off. It'll take some getting used to. I couldn't hold my form/tightness in my back so far, thats why i was so weak.
brand new gym too, really big with lots of add on's, indoor runing track, rink, court, blah, blah.
Still having issue's sleeping at night, took 2 of my sleep pills again last night, woke up 3 hours later feeling great :( but I got back to sleep in no time for another 5 hours! It all happened when I moved my bed in my room! Might have to move it back haha

They have a dip/chin belt at the new gym!!!!! I missed having that soooooo much! No more 25 rep sets of chins for me, only heavy ****in weight

On the financial side......not sure if I mentioned it above, but I'll probably be getting another property soon. Just a condo probably, if in edmonton it'll be $250K or less, or McMurray it'll be ~$400K.
Also, got my prelim's back for my house I'm building, after I told the designer what changes I wanted he sent back a drawing PERFECTLY to what I want! I'm going to sleep on it tonight and approve the layouts tomorrow!!!!

Ok, workout was going decent, then I started roaming the gym and found a new room........the 'High Performance Studio'
Its awesome!!! Has 2 unbelievable racks (fully adjustable, big, built in band anchors on both!) and they have Oly rubber plates, an Oly platform so you can dump the weight, steps galore for Jumps, balance stuff from Fitter. And like NO ONE uses it, so its just me and my tunes
and found some really nice 'spinning' bikes that I can use now, they kick ass cause they're not all ergonomically friendly or soft, just new, expensive, rock hard spinning bikes.
So now my gym fully kicks ass!

On money talk, stalks are improving the past 2 weeks, I'll probably be buying another house in the next few days, found a 'good buy' at $540K. In my town again (mcmurray) so after this one I'll buy a few in Winnipeg. I've been lookin at Pheonix again too, but I'm trying to hold off on buying down there for now.

all of the weights in the 'new' area are kilograms bumper plates......so I'll be referencing kilo's from here on out on legs. Todays weights I think I ****ed up the numbers, don't think I moved that much weight

for cardio on the bike I'll start doing just the 5 mile sprint after warmup, easier to track progress, although theres no way of tracking tension but whatever.

Good workout. Looks short but I played around with misc. lifts that I didn't keep track of.
Next week Im going to get my BF% taken at the gym. My guess right now is <12%, cause even when I hit 8% last year I didn't really look 'ripped', As usual though I dropped my fat ridiculously quick. PPut in an extradonary effort and get an extradonary result. and to think that right now I can only train one week on and one week off!
****, the longer Im away from my job the more I hate that lifestyle, for my 7 days of work I pretty much don't exist in life, gone for 16+ hours a day, and the time home is spent getting ready for work, cursing, and sleepin for 6 hours max.

On the Money note: stocks are up a bit, I figured they would be cause of China's bailout plan.........which is a genius one mind you.
Houses - I pulled my offer 2 days ago on the house, I didn't like the fine print on the offere to purchase, it left a whole that I could be attacked from. I contacted my Realtor and told him how to write it but I'm having issue's getting him to do what I want.......pain in the ass, might just scrap him.
Also dealing with work too on a financial aspect, already made my way to the top dog in Finance in the company and I'm fighting this issue to the end. In summary, they're charging me $1,400.00 a month for something that they are not allowed to do.
Right now my plate is pretty much full!

Felt like a great workout, lower back was feeling iffy when I woke up in the morning, so I made sure to keep my water intake waaaay up......like 3 liters during workout! Had no issue's with back, just lotsa trips to the pisser! haha

K, after many many hours and days of negotiations I finally opened my offer again to a townhouse I eyed up.
Everything is now good on my behalf on the fine print and everything, so wrote the offer up and waiting for written acceptance......already had a verbal acceptance so ther should be no problems that come!
I'll post the numbers once accpeted.

Sleep has been on the ****in backburner agains.............6 hours combined in 90 hours or something sick like that! Just a few more drinks and I'll be able to pass out! lol

I got ALL furnishing included in the sale at NO cost to me,
Also have the seller sign a Lease that HE will rent out the unit for 6 months at $4,400.00 monthly
Original asking price was $465,000.00 and in Fort McMurray there is usually 1.5% max Negotiating room cause of the tight market conditions.

So on month one I will be makin money, monthly cost all inclusive for the unit ar ~$3,300.00, So I'll be grossing $1,100.00 monthly from this property!

I think I'll be starting this up again in the mornings before work, and on non work days I hit the gym up. Conditioning is up so I should be able to handle the volume no problem. Also back to my chicken and rice 3 times a day at work, and back to working some overtime for now.
Been doing a lot of thinking lately about everything from my investments, current market state, current work situation, to my life situation, and a bunch of other bull ****. So I think what I'll do for a while is work my 7 days straight, and come in for 3-4 days on my off days.
Im still really glad I took the past 2 months off of overtime, I NEEDED that! Hell, when I work only straight time Im gone for 115 hours every 2 weeks.

cardio, getting really good considering the humidity out here compared to alberta, and I have no fan so Im SOAKED in sweat by the end! yesterday I slowly took my HR to 178 BPM from 150 BPM over 10 mins - twice. and Today I held 160+ BPM for 10 minutes, then took the HR to 178 BPM over 10 more mins.
I can't find anywhere to jump in the gym yet, I'll look more tomorrow as its a etc day and cardio.

hmm, few days behind here!

worked out everyday up to the 23rd. was on vacation then at home so had access to gym.

Was at my job up till 2 days ago, didnt get to the gym new years eve or new years day, got my cadio in though lol

on the $$ side of it, I downsized the house that Im building, to the effect of ~35%, 'only' going to be ~$650K+ now.......instead of the Million I was quoted! Haven't bought any stocks in the past few weeks, right now my portfolio is going up in value a bit, sitting around $30K, but I have around $12K in trusts paying me 3% dividend EVERY month! I love that! I'll probly be buying more in a week or so, will be either Suncor (they are still at a steal price right now) or more of my ultra high dividend stocks that pay every month.
Also buying a truck/suv in the next few weeks, in short I've had it with my car and winter driving.........well, below -25C my car is suicidal! driving straight then veers 3 feet to the left/right on its own! Scares me. Buying the new vehicle I'll probly be leasing it so I can write off the full lease at year end. Im expecting to earn about $170K at work again this year, plus I still have my rental property that pulls in over $80K annually.....so theres no question that I'll be in the highest tax bracket!
Also I'm going to be making a trip to Vegas really soon, nothing is set in stone yet but I want to head down before the end of February for a few nights, will be hitting up the Dominican too sometime fairly soon. Too cheap to go on vacations there!
I'll update after my workout, today will probably be upperbody and jumps and cardio. We'll see!

Look into buy a few (8-12) one week timeshares.

On ebay get them for ~$800 - ~$1200, and the annual maintenance fee is ~$600 - ~$800. Works out to a hundred bucks a night stay but its a better accomadasion then a hotel.

K, still busy as ever! On a off night now and tomorrow night, but I got over 5 weeks of catching up to do on everything from reading the mail, cleaning apt, and makin food for next week..........so yeah, pretty busy!

My trip to Phoenix! Jan.28th to Feb.3rd - I freaking loved it! Absolutely beuatiful reseort I stead at, in an upscale area, everything was perfect.......I was ~5 miles from Paradise Valley, spot where all the celebs and sports stars live! Gretsky and Nash to name two!
I was in the city of Scottsdale, population apparantly ~230K, very nice area on the North East of Phoenix, I only went to visit one condo community on my last day in the trip, far North of Scottsdale, it was close to perfect! Only thing missing was Palm Tree's.......but they aren't allowed in that area of Phoenix :(
I'd talk for days about how much I enjoyed it! But Im in a rush, so............got to the Grand Canyon.........pretty big! haha
On the financial talk...........I'll probly be buying 2 properties in Phoenix, one for me (I'll be the youngest Snowbird) and a Rental. Having the rental Property will allow me to fly to Phoenix for 60 cents on the dollar!
I've still got MUCH more reading a research to do on all of these matters, mainly the foreign stuff as prior to last month I had about zero knowledge on this ****.

Right now Im still able to get loads of Overtime at work so I'm taking it while I can, with the market in the condition as it is, I can work one hour of overtime (at double time) and invest it, come 12 - 18 months chances are the invested money will double, so my one hour of work will turn into 4 hours of work equivilant a year and a half down the road.

Still working on the house I'm building too, sent out for architectural approval, came back with one note that they want changed so I gave the go ahead to make the change and now I have to wait to get work permits to start Excavation!!!

Workouts..............Back to working out every day before work. 2,000 meters on the Rower at a 2 min or less pace for 500 meters. I'm getting LEAN! I'm back to my chicken/steak and rice for work too.
My sleep has also improved 1,000,000 times over!! I figured out my doseing and junk, Caffeine and thermo's, I take right when I get up at 3.30 am/pm, workout and have shake and oatmeal, 3 times at work I have small steak and rice, one protien shake at lunch, get home and have bran flakes and shake and MELATONIN. Im just takin gthat on work days, and only 3 mg's.

K.........wow..........been busier then **** since that post! Haven't even been at my own house in 2 weeks, and 16 hours from now I'll be gone for another 10 days minimum!

I am working out every single day though, I'm staying at work camp and using the gym there. some cardio and weights everyday. Diets good for the conditions Im in, so much tasty food that I gotta turn down :( Instead, I get about 10 eggs for breakfast and supper each and a huge serving of whatever meat that they have, polished off 2 massive steaks a few days ago for supper! Dinner everyday is my own stuff, steak and rice and protien shake.

Im pretty damn lean now, holding water right now from camp (salt)

Still got ****loads of stuff on my plate, housing, investments, rental property, gym, work, work, work!
Speaking of work.........we had a fire there tonight, my 20 lbs extinguisher was no match for that sucker........6 of us with 20 lbs'ers and one 120lbs tank got it under control though.......barely!

Im TIRED! bedtime now and hopefully I wont wake up for at least 12 hours

Today I started onto 2,500 meters, time was 9:55:00

being in camp for 3 weeks before gave me a few extra pounds :( I guess thats what happens when you eat 20+ eggs a day + 1 pound of meat + rice + potatoe's LOL I indulged............on healthy foods though ;)

K, still busier then you can even imagine!
Off for 24 hours then gone for at least another week,
still doing my morning workouts on the rower. Im up to 3,000 meters at under 12:00 mins. This is immediately after I wake up in the morning so by the end of the 12 mins my body is pretty much depleted of all energy! haha
Gym tomorrow and the next day, upper tomorrow and legs on wednesday.

On the business front: Things are coming along nice........tomorrow is a dedicated tax day........organize all receipts and deductibles'. My home is getting closer.....yet again, to starting. Preapproved from the bank for the mortgage and CMHC (mortgage insurance) comes tomorrow for my principal residense. THEN I can start implementing my plan.........liquidate my stocks into cash, buy another rental property with the large downpayment, get a re-advanceable mortgage, after taking possesion of said property pull the equity out and re-invest it back into the market. This makes the Principal portion of the mortgage tax deductible along with the interest portion (because of its Rental status).

After reading numberous books and around a hundred articles this is finally coming to a close!
With work...........back to having NO life outside of work. I have a few master plans that Im working on like the one above that I want to get started first.

Also on the business side of it..........might be taking a certification course soonish in diet/nutrition/rehab. Just for the credentials........and to back up my new future endevour ;)

Im out to bed, down to 23.5 free hours now!

quick note:

after meeting with my $200.00 an hour accountant/financial planner I'm going to go ahead with the plans that I've been brewing together for the last 6 weeks or so.

Primary Priority - My house - I'm going to save $33K cash in the next 8 months for that.
Secondary Priority - Investing - Area's that I will get, Gold and the Energy sector. Investing money comes after my savings first go to my house fund.

Things I am deferring:
Real Estate - I said since I went to Pheonix that I would buy a place down there, I still will, I said after my trip that I wasn't in a rush because I believe that the prices will continue falling for another 6--12 months and take another 1-2 years to start to come back. So I have a gauranteed 18 months before I'm even going to work out the finances on the purchase anymore.
Real Estate - I was going to buy another property in my home town for my family. This is actually only deferred until I get the possesion of my OWN home.

Had my credit score checked a few weeks back, totally kicked ass ;)


Overall on the 'taking over the world side of it'
I've decided that at the current time it is best (both financially and developmentally) to put all of my knowledge efforts into my work. While I could bust my ass off and take step risks right now to start another business, for zero risk and just a good effort I can make much more $$ through my current employment.

and I thought it was stressful being so ****in busy...........add to that my company that I work for trying to **** me over for $30,000.00+ and you get one totally stressed out person. And on top of that......had some instrumentation screw up at work which caused me to close a valve and cause over a quarter million dollars of damage! Was not my fault at all but as you can imagine its awkward telling the bosses that they have $300,000.00 worth of damage to equipment.

Right now I'm almost at peace............cause its the weekend and all staff are off at work, tomorrow might bring on more bull****. But, for now, I'm going to bed, worked nightshift and only have 6 hours sleep till next shift.

got home for a week, was decent, got to relax a bit, do some travelling too, didn't get a chance to see any of my friends back home cause I was with my family everyday
got to the gym everyday home, only for short workouts, pretty heavy lifting with limited cardio.
diet was pretty decent for being home with a limited selection of food, picked up 9 lbs of chicken breast, that helped a lot!

after my week off I am still feeling th need for a 'get a way' vacation. just like when I went to phoenix in january, go somewhere where you don't know anyone, have no time deadlines or appointments, and just do as I feel. I'll probly just tough it out till august as I have some days off there that I can couple with my regular days off.

While home I got to do a lot more thinking and just general anillysing of life, overall on the financial perspective along with the education side of it. Moreless just realising what I 'NEED' compared to what I 'WANT'. Living in Fort McMurray, the land of money, it is easy to get sucked into the Spend Spend Spend mentality. Being home I got a chance to compared the cost of living/wages/entertainment/lifestyle with the Alberta one, Previous to this trip I had a few items on my to Buy list, but I just re-evaluated my Need to Want and can not justify purchasing the said products. Not to say I will not buy anymore items, but I will have to further justify my purchases to myself.

Didn't get a chance to write down any of my workouts while home, nor did I care :p Pretty much just 60 mins of weights with 10 mins bike.

Yesterday was spent the whole day flying, today Im spending the day up till 5pm studying my power engineering, then I leave for nightshift at work,

just got a call back from the autobody shop, car was over $900 to fix one wheel, and the other 3 are fucekd that will cost over $2200. add to that my $1000 for my accountant payment and $1200 payable to the government for taxes and it looks like I'll be working a lot more overtime still! frig!

anyways, I stll got some idea's brewing in my head, look for more installments to come haha

My car's pissed me off for the last time I believe.........just repaired the balljoint on the passenger side, $900 bill later and I go to move my car forward and now the driver side balljoint **** itself! About to explode so I just drove home, put it in park, and now I'm checking out prices on new/newer cars, I'll just keep this and pull the insurance off of it. Repair it when I can down the road. and NOT pay $145.00 an hour for a kid mechanic to fix it!

I'm in and out of everyone's journals (I'm the Peeping Tom of WBB :D). Anyways, I noticed you said you were going to buy a house in Phoenix. Did you go through with that, or are you still in the market for one down there?

Reason I ask is I used to live there, and my g/f's family is from there. I'm in the market to buy a house, and thinking about moving back out there because the prices are ridiculously low right now for what you can get. I think it'd be a better investment for the future to buy a home out there, and let the market go back up in a few years.

Just curious, and good philosophy regarding justifying all purchases.

Hey Beast, I'm still planning to buy in Phoenix area, or Vegas. One of the cheap spots to buy that has a warm/hot climate with no rain, that's my criteria.
Plans are deffered for a while, my bank is requiring me to come up with another LARGE chunk of change on my downpayment. Once my home is out of the way then I will be better armed to buy a winter home.

Still packing, still finding 'new' stuff that I've boughten before that I have NO memory of! lol As it stands now the only thing I will need to buy in the next 4 months is chicken, that's it! Other food and clothes are taken care of for like a year lol

This is my 4th day off in a row, feels really really weird. I like it though which sucks cause now its going to be a bitch going back to work! I plan to pretty much work from July.7th until I get possesoin of my home, oct/nov or so.

the past few weeks I've been getting really ****ing hot/sweaty after workouts, I mean like 'holy **** im about to die' heat........this happend only once before and it was 2 years ago when I was at my leanest, following this I got damn sick, landed in the E.R. twice in one day, and yeah, my body pretty much shut down.
So I'm going to make certain that I'm hitting at least all of my meals, more if neccessary cause my metabolism is through the roof right now.

just a quick update:

Currently weighing 178lbs at about 9% or so, I'll be slowly going up to 185/190lbs.

Going to start hitting the weights at the gym more, ~8-10 times every 2 weeks instead of 1-3 times. Going to continue my rowing on all off days, adding one small meal per day-300-500cals.

edit - figured this out, a MRP pack, 42 protein & 20 carbs, adding it to mid morning then bumping my lunch shake a bit later.


Sleep will still be the same, less actually cause I'll be hitting the gym on my sleep hours.

formula for gaining mass: calories + muscular stimulation + rest = MuSkulZ

yup, that's it!

to exhausted yesterday morning at 3:20 am for a workout......but by 6;15 i was ready to go so i hauled ass at work climbing to my work station, 300' of stairs in 135 seconds!! busted my old record of 149 seconds! I'm ~15 seconds away from racing the elevator up the 300' climb, pretty ****ing good me thinks ;)


today i hauled ass again, right to the top of the coker - ~410', so 300' of stairs and the rest ladders - 5:43 min/s Old PR was 6:10!! Did that 5 minute torture 55 mins ago and my metabolism is still jacked!

just got back from a 20 min jog, had 2 all out sprints in there - ~150 meter slight uphill grade and ~50 meter step uphill. metabolism is ****in cooking in high gear again!

'might' do gym tomorrow, right now I'm on the edge of being recovered enough, we'll see what the night brings, it'll be deads and powercleans/jumps:30"platform and/or distance and probably some sprints.

jog - ~2,000 meters , went well. After my sprints yesterday at the gym I also figured out the flaw in my jogging technique! What was brutal on my shins is now pretty much eliminated! Solution/problem - my upper body was too rigid, needed more of a turning action to my upper body on strides, now the impact is pretty much gone! Simple solution that took me years to figure out! lol, before i used to jog with sprinting technique.

Then I got to thinking about how I used to do this 7 years ago when I was a TEEN and it got my pretty wound up/pissed off! haha The 225kg/498lbs started slow off the floor but then I picked up speed and lost the grip a few inches from lockout, like I said before though, this was with NO chalk! Well, my body made it nearly 2 days after my 5 day bender before a complete shut down! haha Called of sick from work cause i was pretty ****ed up! went back to work the next day though (short staffing they absoluetly needed me) and the following 2 days of work i as totally ****ed up, drugged up on flu meds and other junk. but now I'm back to awesomeness again! Might have even found a new secret to less sleep, I've been popping 4 advil before bed and i feel ****ing fantastic all day when i wake up! I'll continue with it..........

went to Cuba last week........had a fantastic time!! first time at an all inclusive resort! to be blunt it was ****in perfect! ZERO stress the whole 8 days........heaven :D

anyways, i did my 10 min workouts there with weights, that was all there

had a decent leg/squat workout when I got back, then my body shut down at work! lol! not from lifting, from the temperature changes at work.......unsafe area.....
anyways, pretty much recoverd now, when for 20 min cardio and core session today, tomorrow Im going to hit the weights, lost my voice from being sick..........blah!

again, did my daily 1,000 meter row in the morning, still using the long stroke to attain incredible times!

bike HIIT 20/40seconds 12 Rounds
10 min break, walkin laps and doing leg raises

haha Holy sweat! drank 2 liters even of water,8 cups, pissed once! My shirt and shorts were absolutey drenched! lol I looked pretty darn grubby ;)

Getting closer to having my garage gym! When I get back from Dominican I'm going to stop in the Fitness stores and place the order! Rough tally on the garage so far is around $6,000.........probably going to increase though, and the big purchase is the SPinning bike, same one I use at the gym, LeMond Revmaster ~$1,700..........Guess I'll have to go in for a couple overtime shifts! haha

bike, bit wacky today, 3 mins pretty hard then drop on ground and do 2 mins of static planks/front/side Did that for 5 sets.......
kept on going for another 15 mins hard on the bike - took a 10 min break and came back to do 10 more mins pretty hard on the bike
Not exactly HIIT, but my metabolism is still jumped 3 hours later!
