View Full Version : my meals for general health/weight loss

Ok,

I checked in here a couple weeks ago looking to put together a diet to suit my needs.

At the time I was 5-11 about 210 lbs, large gut. I was looking to loose as much as I could. I am going to start going back to the gym but for know this is what I eat.....any suggestions are appreciated. Remember that I am doing this for weight loss/ general health. I have lost about 10lbs so far with no exercise but I know thats more water weight and the fast drop at the beginning

Breakfast
1 glass orange juice
oatmeal
1 slice wheat toast or wheat bagel

10 am snack
granola bar

Lunch
plain tuna or chicken breast with a whole wheat wrap or wheat bread

Dinner
chicken breasts, or twice a week lean steak, 1 a week seafood like shrimp

9 pm snack
yogurt with granola


I only drink water ( about 3/4 gallon a day) and gatorade, and the juice in the morning. No more fried foods, sweets, greasy stuff, soda.

I know I need to be more rounded like vegetables and things but sometimes I just dont have the time to cook. I have been buying packs or chicken breasts and cooking them all together at the beginning of the week. Anybody have any easy/microwavable ideas in thsi department

You need some protein in meal 1.

You also need some EFA's/healthy fats in some other meals, probably with dinner.

IMO, not enough protein or EFA's, too many carbs.

So I will add some peanuts in with lunch....

Eggs to breakfast.....

Should I eliminate some bread?
