Let's say for a snack I eat like a couple eggs, a couple chicken breasts, a can of tuna, and a sandwich.

my guess is that's 80-90+g of protein at least.

Did I absorb all that?

Probably not. But I say it's better to have too much than not enough.

Oh btw, I usually stick to around 30-50g each meal.

Ok.

But how much time is enough between meals?

2 hours?

Absorb? Yes, the body is very efficient and will process everything you give it. Use it all for muscle building? Unlikely.

Read Skip Lacour's guide to muscle gain nutrition, should be available on the internet somewhere (I got it off Kazaa), he makes the point that even though you may only be able to use around 30g protein at a time, in an hour or two you will be able to absorb another 30g. He calls it his "window of opportunity" theory; he himself eats eight meals a day and a huge amount of protein but whether that much eating is feasible to the average person with a job etc...

carefull with the word absorb

your body can absorb any amount of protein !!!

the question is will it be used as amino acids (ie: building muscle, enzymes) or will be converted to sugar (energy) or stored as fat

the most important thing is establishing a slow and constant flow of amino acids into your blood

if you eat 20-30 g's 4-5 times a day you are covered

allways better to spread that protein intake out over your entire day

Everything is absorbed.

Even if the protein isn't used for muscle building (directly), who cares? Plenty of other good uses for it.

I consume over 60 grams of protein with each of the 6 meals I consume a day. I must say, this is the most efficient bulk I have ever been on, and I seem to have ginaed 7lbs of almost complete muscle so far (based upon the visibility of my abs and definition). Everyone is different, but I feel your body will absorb whatever you put in to it, just make sure you are consuming quality protein.

as opposed to protein of inferior quality- lol

i think its good to get as much protein as you can, as long as your not goin over 3g/lb- i believe i read in geoff's little study that protein, and too much of it has a negative effect on test. production.

Exactly. Like gelatin for example, or incomplete proteins, i.e. beans, rice, peanuts.
