Well I'm eating 4-5 small meals of greens and chicken and a protein shake or two depending on if I lift or not.

So how much cardio should I be doing?

hi! heh when i cut i did 4 times a week for about 45 minutes and burned about 600 calories...granted all mine were very high intensity....seems to me though that you may need to look at what your eating a little closer and udjust that a bit...search the forums for that

Let me revise my meal plan for ya.

meal 1: 100% whole wheat toast and low fat peanut butter or oatmeal
meal 2: Chicken and greens/pinto beans
meal 3: Protein shake
meal 4: Chicken and greens/pinto beans
meal 5: Chicken / Fish and greens
meal 6: Protein shake

To many carbs ya think? I'm trying to lose the fat and not burn up a bunch of muscle.

Calorie thingy on the treadmill says 450cals but i have no idea how many cals i burn.
I have not lost any muscle in 6months.
Before cardio, 45grams maltodextrin-25protein
post, 90grams malto-50protein

Supposedly muscle breakdown starts after 20 min of cardio. I forget where I read this but it was reputable.

Can you back this up? It doesn't seem realistic.

Not that it's really a big deal, and I realize that each treadmill counts differently (and furthermore I doubt any of them are accurate), but I can't believe you only burn 450 cals in an hour. What speed and on what incline are you walking?

I'm only curious because I do that kind of cardio as well, and I typically burn between 1100-1200 cals if I go for an hour (3.5-4.0 mph, 15% incline).

Vido, i do the same (almost, i stay at 3.8-3.9 at a 15 % incline) on the treadmill and i burn 400 calories. I dont think mine is accurate though, it doesnt even ask me for my weight.

I go 30mins !@3.0mph and 30mins@5.0mph, i dont have it on an incline

This is my first cut and I'm eating half the food I used to before it. The cardio I do is about 1/2 hour jogging 4-5 times a week. That's probably not enough, but I've got to get the hang of this cut thing before I can do it too seriously. But it's doing wonders for my cardiovascular system and that's the main aim of this.

Well I lost a good 10 lbs in a month but have not lost much since...in fact I haven't lost any after the 10 lbs. So I'm going to increase my cardio now. Instead of doing cardio every other day for 25 min. after I workout I'm now going to do my cardio on days I don't lift weights for 45 min. What do ya think?

Well mine does ask me for my weight, but I still have my doubts as to the accuracy of those machines. I just can't believe there would be such a large discrepancy.

I think that's a great idea because you should be aiming to do cardio on days you don't lift anyway.

Why is that? Is 45 min. 3-4 times a week good you think?
