I was doing DB presses and near the top of a rep (I barely made it), my right shoulder made a popping sound and it felt like something slipped out of place in it. My arm lost strength quick and the weight came down pretty fast but I was able to control it alright and put it down. I didnt do anymore presses but I did side, front, and rear delt work as well as shrugs with no problem. Its sore now but not extremely painful... Feels like something inside, rotator cuff maybe? Anyone know what I might have done?

sounds like a rotator cuff problem to me. i have similar problems with my right shoulder due to dislocating it in a car wreck several years ago. i'm not really able to do db presses without it popping and some pain. however, bb militaries and any other shoulder work do not bother it at all. you might want to give the bb presses a try.

Me too!

I've had a bum shoulder for about a week now. What I do to my rotator cuff in my sleep I have no idea, but I'm going to a doctor about it tomorrow.

Whatever you do don't let them give you a shot of cortizone. All it will do is take the pain away for a few weeks and bang it is back again. I went to a sports doc. He gave me the shot twice. It didn't help either time. I even took a week off each time as suggested.

My shoulder is finally back to normal now. I went in close with the bench press and tried not to do any exercises that caused pain in the shoulder. After about 2 months it was back to normal.

Do a google for L-Flys. Cant really describe it. It works one of the muscles that is responsible for rotating the shoulder and also keeps the joint tight.

L-Flys have saved my life. I have had 2 major reconstructions on my left shoulder in the past. I was almost crippled till I recently found out about L-Flys and I am slowly working on that one muscle that caused most of my problems. I can already tell a big difference. Sounds like you might have a similar problem. I have read where everyone can benefit from doing them even if you don't have shoulder problems.

That's what's weird with me. I've been doing external rotations (L-flyes) every few days during down-time (I always include them in my training), and it actually pains my shoulder. Good thing I'm seeing that doctor tomorrow.

UPDATE: My doctor told me to take roughly 2400 mg of ibuprofen every day for a week, then work in the rotator cuff stuff if I could do so without pain. He also commented that with what I knew, I was ahead of 99% of the people who come in with rotator cuff problems. :D
