View Full Version : what should i eat to get ripped

im a little over 5 6 132-135 pounds and 17 year sold. I have a really bad diet. I pretty eat whatever i want whenever i want. Alot of fast foods and ice cream. Like i take in liek alot of calories a day liek 3000-3500. What diet should i go. Should i just go no carbs or what. My weight isnt bad because i run 2 miles 4 days a week not including basketball and lifting. I really want to get ripped this summer and maybe drop a few pounds in teh process. Also i was wondering how much cardio and lifting should i do to get ripped.

stop eating fast food and cook your own food. i guess the 5 small meals would apply here. but youre still young and very active. i see that you mentioned you play basketball yet you run 2 miles lol. if you play basketball you dont need to run. basketball is much better cardio and its fun.

some carbs are good for you so you shouldnt exclude all carbs. just dont take too much of it if your main goal is to lose weight.

When cutting you eat pretty much the same things as when bulking. A good list of appropriate "bodybuilding" foods is available in the sticky here (http://www.wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=46565). Start by cutting out all of your junk food and eating clean and this may be enough.

Low carbs shouldn't really be necessary until you're trying to lose that last few percent of body fat when more extreme dieting is required.

Lift 3 or 4 times a week. A good starting routine is WBB #1 (http://www.wannabebig.com/article.php?articleid=25). It sounds like you are doing sufficient cardio with your running and basketball.
