For those who have a problem with my form in the other video I have made this just for you!

I pinned my ass up against a wall and curled 175 lbs. Please note, this was AFTER I had performed hang cleans, weighted curl-grip chins, and close grip bench presses.

The "sign" I give at the end is for those who may have doubted me  .

06-22-2004, 08:08 PM
hahhaha nice curl bro. I love your "sign." That was definetly strict. How much do you feel like you can curl " in a strict enough" fashion?

Very impressive

Hey no excuses. ;)

That was killer man.

P.S. I didn't see much problem with the 190 video.

LMFAO nice ending.

Big Nic, I don't know, I suppose a bit over 200 lbs. If I get sloppier still I can get 225 or more.

06-22-2004, 08:29 PM
Well, I wouldn't call that strict, but it's pretty close. HEHE, just kidding bro!!! Great job! And I agree, there was nothing wrong with the 190.

06-22-2004, 08:30 PM
thas awesome..who cares bout those form freaks. Get a 225 or up one on here

06-22-2004, 08:36 PM
Lol. nice.

06-22-2004, 08:54 PM
i agree w/ the 225 that would be insane.
not bad for an old hairy guy chris!!!

06-22-2004, 09:14 PM
Chris I think you got your legs into that a little too much. lol p.s. nice sign lol.

Just to clarify, the "sign" at the end was just because I was fired up at the lift and was kind of talking to the camera. You would have to know me in the gym to understand that. It really isn't directed at anyone in particular as I kind of implied in the beginning.

Thanks guys for the compliments.

In all seriousness, I put the video up to show what I can do with very strict form. In a movement like the barbell curl it is my firm belief that worrying too much about form is a mistake.

Very nice Chris. Even more impressive considering you did chins first.

06-23-2004, 01:04 AM
i think he did post up a 225 curl in the past.. right?

06-23-2004, 01:41 AM
lol now you're making me feel all guilty and stuff for saying you weren't isolating biceps the last time. I never questioned you are really damn strong man, and it was nitpickery for sure.

06-23-2004, 01:42 AM
We should totally blur that sign out like on MTV. kids could be watching this. They'd be forever damaged.

That was a picture as opposed to a video. I was curling with loose style at the time. I am actually curling as much as I ever have using good form right now (which is a good thing).

Reinier, I am just showing the kids who is "number 1" in that video.

06-23-2004, 07:53 AM
That sign wasnt nice, chris. ;)

Do you always use a wide grip when curling?

do you think you could curl more with an ezcurl bar? I know I can get 160 up for a single or deuce on EZ curl with strict form and I'm much weaker than you are across the board.

I really don't know. Try it with your back against the wall and see what you can do, I think you will find that makes it even harder than standard strict form.

That sign wasnt nice, chris. ;)

Do you always use a wide grip when curling?

Yep, that is the grip I use.

06-23-2004, 02:17 PM
Have you ever tried entering a curling contest?

06-23-2004, 02:20 PM
I have a narrower grip.

To each his own though.

06-23-2004, 02:23 PM
lol awesome!

06-23-2004, 11:55 PM
amazing, i love the vids chris, i think you should make a ton for all kinds of exercises (with demonstration weight only) for people to watch and learn....

oh yeah and throw up one with 200+ pounds! lol

06-24-2004, 07:17 AM
There's such a thing as curling contests?

06-24-2004, 07:18 AM
I know there are arm wrestling contests. I could see Chris being good at that.

06-24-2004, 09:32 AM
Have you ever tried entering a curling contest?

Where??? :evillaugh I'm soooo there!

Nice work Chris, as usual.

06-24-2004, 12:59 PM

Very nice lift.

06-30-2004, 12:26 PM
very nice lift, indeed.

This stricter lift definitely impressed me more than the older 190 with a little cheat.
