Place shake container on scale.

Zero scale.

Pour in dextrose until scale reads 46g.

What kind of store would sell dextrose, and approximately what cost?

1/4 cup is actually closer to 26g, if you are going off the supplement direct nutritional label they have theirs mislabeled and have been told numerous times with no change.

I use the scoop from protein. Volume is volume. Powder is powder. Eye ball it from there. It isn't rocket science.

So 1 Scoop of feathers is the same as a scoop of lead?

Many analog scales can be zeroed also, and if not it's some simple maths to substract the weight of the container. An inexpensive kitchen scale is very handy.

Why would people use a measuring cup? Scoop of optimum is 29.4g. Weight wise I would bet whey and dex are close enough for this.
No point being a smart ass.
