I just bought some natural peanut butter. It has peanut butter and salt on the label( ingredients ). It is supposed to be runny??

This is probably a dumb question, but I have been eating Food Lion Peanut Butter in my diet and thought I would try the natural( hearing about it from this forum).

The carbs and protein seem about the same as the F.L. Is it really that much better for you?

I didn't try it yet, to taste the difference. Eating beef roast tonight.

i get the same natty pb... just mix in the oil and throw it in the fridge. The difference is you dont have the trans fatty acids and the extra sugar they throw in other brands of pb.

Look at the lid. Writing should say something like, "stir oil in and refrigerate". Don't really need to refrigerate, but anyway, just read and follow.

Or the chemicals or other unnatural things that keep the peanut butter from separating.

It's generally palm oil that is added to PB as a stabaliser to stop it from separating.

every other time you put it back in the fridge turn it upside down

this cuts down alot on the stirring

came up with this after my wrist surgeory...

Yeah, stir it well before putting it in the fridge, because it becomes more visous when it's cold. After the initial stir it really won't get oily anymore.

I second this. So much more consistent when I turn the bottle upside down.

naah you all got it all wrong, u dont need to stir, just put it in the fridge for an hour originally, then when you want to eat it- you dig a little oil well into the peanut butter (on 1 side), and tilt the bottle so the well fills up, then just eat the other side, which is now is oil-free, thanks to your ingenious little plan.

is the oil that separates out a particular sort of fat?

Just bought my first jar of natty p.b. in a couple of years yesterday. Forgot all about the oil. Spun the top off and ended up with p.b. from one end of the friggin' kitchen to other. What a friggin' mess. That **** is ******* hard to clean up.
