Doesn't the ON protein have some extra enzyme that helps the metabolism of the protein ? After you stop using it wont there be withdrawal symptoms cuz of the absence of the previously introduced enzyme (Lactase and Aminogen).

metabolize means turn into energy so I hope not...

are you asking if it has enzymes or are you asking what they do ?

I assume by withdrawal that you mean you pancreas will no longer make enzymes

I highly doubt this and I don't think we have any scientific data to suggest this

What he's saying is that the ON whey has enzymes added to help you digest the protein, and when you stop, if you will have a harder time digesting protein

I don't think that's the case, you should be fine

Medically speaking when you introduce a ready made enzyme or substance to the body yours will stop making it, feedback mechanism. Thats what I'm talking about. Have there been any studies about it ?

stop or make less of it to meet demand

the bottom line is the pancreas will synthesize enzymes to keep up with stores (ie: demand)

taking enzymes exogenously just helps these stores remain topped up

it will never stop production and I dont think we have any clinical data to suggest it

When you take them exogenous there will be no need for the pancreas to support metabolism like it used to because theres no need to anymore. If I need 5 units to digest protein and I already take 3 from a supplement then the pancreas will synthesize 2 only, it will not keep on giving 5 because all it requires is a total of 5.

Has there been any research on this topic before ?
