Would that number change for a post-workout meal, or not. As long as your insulin spike was high enough?

There is no real specific SET number of grams of protein your body can digest at one sitting. This is debated sometimes. Some people think only 30 g, some say 40 and some think 60...hell it all depends on you. Your physiology is unique.... factors such as your body size, your body type, how much lean body mass you have...etc. This is very hard to quantify, so basicly we can't give you a number "set in stone."

heathj, assuming you take in exactly 75g of high gi carbs after a workout, you can now absorb 49.782942g of protein.

That figure is exact. No decimal changes.

Alrighty. Got ya. So protein absorption requires on a few factors. How many carbs you take and how high the GI is in them, making you able to absorb more protein.

after a workout, there WONT be an insulin spike unless your consuming 2-4g of carbs for every gram of protein
