I did a search and found a lot of info on dextrose and i know that glucose stimulates insulin to take the creatine into cells and so forth. But is dextrose necessary to add while taking creatine? I mean couldn't I just drink grape juice or something with a high sugar and carbohydrate content? A lot of people have been talking about how good it is and many people have recommended it to me, but what the big hype? Why does it help so much?
thanks

i dont know the science behind it but heres what i understand. after you work out your carbohydrate storage is empty and your body becomes a sponge. supposedly dextrose is the best simple carb to take post workout as it fills up the empty carb storage. and i think this makes your body more anabolic or something and it speeds up protein absorption.
i know a lot of people who take creatine with just powerade so i dont think its that big of a problem. but dextrose is cheaper.
i also have a QUESTION: does it matter if you take creatine with water or a sugary drink? i heard if you take creatine with just water it doesnt get delivered because it needs glucose or something...

well you need to take it with something thats high in sugar and carbs because the glucose stimulates insluin in your bloodstream which delivers the creatine to your muscle cells. Water is fine if you want it, but I'm sure everyone here wouldnt recommend that...it really has no potential to deliver the creatine quickly to your muscles.
