Does your creatine come with a delivery system? i.e a mixture of maltodextrin, dextrose, ala etc..

If all you have is just straight creatine monohydrate, drinking it with water is the worst possible thing. You need some simple sugars with the creatine in order to improve delivery to the muscles.

i heard a lot of people do that but at this one creatine faq they said the creatine wont get delivered if you do that. i dont know what the reasoning is or if this is really true.

I do that. I gained 4 lbs in a week doing that with 10g a day. So I was satisfied. It works just fine.

you can consider creatine delivered once swallowed

Interesting thread.
I'm starting my first creatine cycle, and honestly, what I'm going through now on the loading phase (5x5g/day) I am NOT looking forward to repeating every 10 weeks.
Oh man... the farts are killing me and everyone around me. It's not the creatine... it's the fruit juice that I'm mixing it with. If I can mix it with straight water, or with my protein shakes, it'll be a true lifesaver. I just can't handle 64oz of juice every day for a week! I did my last two shots of it today on water and things have been much quieter than yesterday.
Wow... 3 days to go.

If a delivery system IS required, does anyone have any suggestions for something that won't have the same side effects as fruit juice? :moon:

No delivery system is required. Your muscles reach a saturation point and maintain it quite easily at just 2-3g/day. If you're really THAT worried about it being "delivered" to your muscles, just have 5g instead and I'm sure even without some sort of "system shuttling it to the muscle" you'll still absorb more than enough.

A delivery system is hype from supplement companies wishing to charge $70 for a tub of creatine that should cost $20.

Cool. It does make sense. Even mixing with fruit juice, it's going to be pretty diluted by the time it goes beyond my stomach anyways.
Good news.
I'll stick with ONE serving of fruit juice :)

I'm looking into creatine and found this in an FAQ.

Note: it is discouraged to use caffeine while on creatine; while creatine makes your muscles hold water, caffeine will do the opposite, thereby reducing the effects of the creatine intake.

Don't mix creatine with citrus juice. Orange, grapefruit, cranberry, in fact, most fruit juices have been most recently found to neutralize the activity of creatine monohydrate. The reason is the waste product creatinine develops. A lot of you put creatine on your tongue and drink it down with grapefruit juice. If you have taken creatine this way in the past, stop it now! You are not getting creatine, you're getting waste product.

they say to take it with water or juice, more perferably juice cause it is more active in your body when digested with sugar and such. Also sugar is way underrated, Insulin is THE most powerful hormone released in the body for muscle growth, Thats why some bb's actually inject insulin in their bodies while on or off their cycle. Its extremely dangerous though if you fool around with your sugar and insulin levels though. I know some people who would actually drink a whole bottle of wine a day because it was a natural sugar from grapes that was fermented, and it didn't give you that beer buzz as well. More of a relaxation effect.
