For you all who do these do you use three different grips or do you just use the same one all the way throughout?
cause i use close, medium and wide, i was thinking of just doing all 9 sets with my normal grip because thats the way i bench also when i do close grip or medium grip very fast like that it puts strain on my elbows and a bad strain on my pec. But when i take my normal grip (which is just inside my wide grip) i feel no bad stress and my bar speed is great and i feel i can get the most out of doing all the sets this way.
what do you do? and what do yall think I should do about my problem?
I do close, medium and wide grip. 3 triples of each.

adam your lifts might be good but your math skills suck.
403+303+503= 1209
not 1203
i get a little pain from doing close and wide also- i do 5 normal 1 of each others.

I think you guys might have to concentrate on tucking in your elbows (not flaring them). Back when I did close grips, I flared my elbows and didn't keep them by my side and I could definitely feel the strain.

so would yall reccomend staying and using all three grips or just staying with one wide grip and doing all 9 sets with the grip you bench press with?

I do medium-to-narrow grip for all sets.

Depends how I feel that day. Sometimes I use 1 grip, 2 grips, or 3 grips. I just go with the flow.
JTyrell710, a total is the sum of your lifts during one competition, not the sum of your best lifts.

Dynamic Benching is speed benching a la Westside training.
I prefer to use one grip myself. It just feels more natural that way. I also scale the weight up in sets, rather than leave it static.

I do 3 grips: 2 wide, 4 normal, 2 close grip.
The wide grips feel by far the worst for me when I do dynamic bench. It hurts my shoulders a little bit. The close grips feel much better..
