I was just wondering what are some good things to add to plain old oatmeal to make it taste more better?

I put some protein powder in my oatmeal and almost puked

I usually put a little bit (OK, sometimes slightly more than a little bit) of brown sugar in it, I don't think it's going to hurt that much, especially since I'm bulking

Just pour a protein shake on it(i think thats what they meant) , protein powder on its own would be way too sweet, tried vanilla whey mixed with low fat cottage cheese the other day.....eugh*shudders*

Why would protein powder be any sweeter when mixed with oats than in a regular shake?

Depends what you're after. I mix in some dried fruits and some crushed nuts, add some milk and stick it in the fridge for an hour or two to "set" (which softens the oats a bit), then eat it with some fresh fruit on top, a little extra milk, and maybe a little honey. Tastes great, but it's altering the nutritional profile significantly of course.

Because on its own it isnt mixed with anything, and is therefore concentrated and tastes much stronger, and is vile!

Ok, forget putting any processed sugars in there. Put some fruit in there. I sliced up a nectarine and threw it in my oatmeal and let it microwave for a minute and a half. 60 calories for a whole nectarine. 60 calories for a tbspn of honey. I'll take the nectarine... more filling, and it tastes better.

I breathed in some protein power once (accidentaly), now that was vile. I was coughing for days.

Dude, I still gotta try this. Now there are two people who recommend it.

Drink your oatmeal!

Grind it up in a blender to get oatmeal powder (1 cup reg = 1/2 powdered)
Then mix it with milk, or water (for after a workout)

Be careful about getting carried away with the powder. Once I ate 1 cup powdered.

1 cup powdered = 2 cups regular = 4 cups expanded in my stomach.

I'm lucky I didn't break anything.

very lucky. cook your oatmeal. that could kill you. I had a friend who's dog ate a crapload of oats (for the horses). killed the dog when it expanded.

Yes, make sure to keep the porportions correct and raw oatmeal can be okay. Also, drink a lot of water afterwards because it takes a decent amount to digest.

the only thing that taste remotely good in oatmeal to me is honey

cinammon sucked, vanilla extract sucked, protein powder was okay but i wouldnt do it again and rasins were okay, but to me honey is the best
