JustinF, I like pounding my chest once in a while without bothering with the stabilizers. Yeah whatever.

So this isn't much of a second coming if I don't keep it updated huh??

I swear I'm updating tonight.

Oh and so far as the pulling, I pulled 535 two weeks ago but my trap and lower back are ****ed up royally. I don't know if it's a form issue or what but damnit, I can barely deadlift anymore without hurting.

ANd on another note, I am starting to cut calories due to the fact that I can only see 4 abs and they're even starting to fade. I'm actually suprised it's taken this long considering I was eating fast food 1-2 times a day supplemented with homemade breaded chicken tenders and plenty 'o hamburgers.

Here's to eating tuna for the next 5-8 wks...

JustinASU

Thanks guys. Let's not go so far as to say I'm cutting so much as I'm cleaning up my diet. I've eaten 4 more 1/2 lb cheeseburgers between yesterday and today, of course they were homemade and lean but hey it's still a cheese burger.

Legs/whatever

I decided to try power cleans for the first time today. I'm not sure how good my technique is and exrx.net doesn't exactly help as much as I thought. You'd think someone who can deadlift as much as I can wouldn't have a problem with cleans. If you thought that, you'd be wrong.

And I ran out of time.

Overview of today's diet:
meal 1: Egg sandwich, massive bowl o' raisin bran
meal 2: 90g protein shake in milk
meal 3: 1 lb lean beef on whole wheat buns
meal 4: 5 tbsp natty PB on ww toast
meal 5: 9 oz tuna on ww bread
meal 6: 24 oz ff cottage cheese

So er um hey people. Life sucks which is why I haven't been back on WBB for about 2 months. OKay I did stop in once or twice to flame some newbies in the lifting forum. I thought I'd provide a brief update for you guys so you understand where I am coming from. Working 55+ hours a week has taken a great toll on me. Cortisol has become my nemisis due to the massive amounts of stress. According to the doc I am 1 step away from an ulcer because of work and my sleep deficit at this point is unfathomable (Is that even a word?). I stopped deadlifting 2-3 months ago because of my injured lower back. A couple days ago I decided to deadlift again just for the hell of it. I pull 495 like it was air but 515 was damn near impossible. That's 20 pounds off my PR. I woke up at 2 am the morning after deadlifting and I honestly could not get out of bed due to the pain. So I went back to the doc and got 2 different muscle relaxers but I've been too paranoid to take them since I'm worried about how they'll effect my muscle growth. I have absolutely no appetite and I come home sick every night because of my stress levels from work. Despite all this ****, I have managed to hit both a new PR on bench and squat. My bench is 320x1 right now and squat is 455x1 to parallel. Weight is up around 235-240 but I'm a little fatter than I'd like to be. I desperately need to find a new job but I can't seem to locate one.

Overall the quality of life for me right now is very low. I don't know how to go about fixing it. I'm in over my head and I miss college like never before. I had no idea how harsh and ****ty the real world would be but after almost a year of experiencing it, it's left quite a bit more than just a bitter taste in my mouth. My aspirations right now are to drop the job, get a loan and go back to school to obtain a master's in exercise physiology-- which is quite difficult for a business major, lemme tell ya. I'll try to fit a workout in this thing every once in a while and I'll even get in a few rants here and there when I have time. Just this little rant here has helped me feel a little better. I've always gotten incredible support from you guys here at WBB which is another reason I want to get back into the journal. I hope some of you guys are still around and it's not just a bunch of newbies that I don't know...

Well, that's it for now.

BigNic
10-17-2004, 03:02 PM

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates...Like anyone besides JustinF and my roomie read this thing anyway.

I had a great squat night tonight so I though I'd share.

Squats below parallel:

135x10
225x8
315x8
365x8
415x5
465x2
225x12

This is awesome but I am concerned with something. I was looking at older pics from about May of this year and I seem to look much bigger in these pics. This makes me incredibly sad. I mean, my poundages rock compared to then. Bench is 330 as opposed to 255, squat is 470 as opposed to 415 and deads are 540 as opoosed to 500 but I look skinner and less bulky. I didn't change my training really but the stress levels and lack of sleep are really adding up. Any ideas as to what can be going wrong? How can one seem to lose size yet have exponentially better strength????

Anyway, here's a Justin quote for today:
"I think this beef is probably bad, but I'm going to eat it anyway, because I'm poor, and poor people have to eat bad meat. Besides, it's not like I care if I get food poisoning, at least then I wouldn't have to go to work for awhile."

I hadn't either. Scott, the guy who owns the gym that we go to, puts the big lifts of the gym members on a whiteboard in the freeweight room. When Justin first pulled 527 or something like that, he asked about the 2 extra pounds as well.
Scott's reply was "well, you lifted 'em, didn't you?"

So I havent been updating regularly nor have I had the chance to post in your journals. I know I'm the biggest ******* to grace the pages of wbb. Reason being--life is ****ing me, as it always does--and let me tell you, life is a bad screw. My girlfriend has to move away, with family for the next 6 months because she can't afford to live on he own and I can't afford to support her because of my ****ty job--but if you know me well enough, that's another bitching story. So she left today and I felt like bursting out in tears but I did the manly thing and swallowed my feelings to retain my pride. Yessir. I'll see her every once in a while but I was on the verge of proposing. I'm sure she knows it but it's just frustrating. It seems when life gives me something good, it always comes with a drawback. So I may not be on the board often--not that anyone will miss me. I'll be wallowing in my own depression and self pity.

Oh and btw, thanks for the half assed b-day wishes. No seriously.
