what you need

whole wheat pita
tomato sauce/pasta sauce
ff cheese or low fat

throw pita in oven for about 5 minutes on each side in a 350 degree oven
then top it with sauce and cheese and if you want to add toppings you could... I just made a bbq chicken pizza... mixed some tomato sauce/low carb bbq sauce threw it on, place on some chopped up chicken breast and slice of ff cheese let it sit in oven till cheese is melted! walaaaa

Yeah, and throwing some chicken on it adds in a nice protein punch. I've been doing it for a while, it's really good.

Been doing this for awhile too, but the cheese slides off too easy for me. A local restaurant does this as well, and its pretty good. I like to do veggies vs chicken, but that sounds like a good idea too.

yeah i do this too, chuck alot of vegi's and low fat ham etc. use non-salsa dip as the sauce, along with low fat cheese and its sweet as!

I used to make it for my grandfather all the time- he passed on the twenty sixth of September and now I can't touch homemade pizza, it demoralizes me.

More tuna, I suppose.

anyone expiriment with a portabello mushroom type pizza?

yeah.. a bit difficult though because the portabello mushroom takes a longer time to cook so if i put it on the pizza raw and put it in the oven, either the base and cheese get burnt first or the mushroom comes out not thoroughly cooked. i usually put it in a pot with some olive oil and sorta cook it a bit before putting in on the base and into the oven.

i tried it last night it came out pretty good... I put it in the oven at 350 for 8 minutes faced down, then took it out placed the toppings on it and put it in for about another 10 minutes or so... pretty much till toppings were cooked and cheese melted :)

1 portabello mushroom
1/4 cup fat free cheese
2 oz chicken
walden farms calorie free marinara
a little oregeno and a little seasoning.

i can't find whole wheat pita's at my grocer, do you guys get them at health-food stores or just bigger grocery stores....?

Pretty good, eating it now. I put the whole thing in the oven tho and let it melt...good stuff.
