my question basically comes down to, what is the best way to eat for a serious lifter.. i'm 5'10, weight 181. i have 11% body fat and i want to know what some people eat and how they eat in order to gain mass but muscle mass.. my goal is to become a much thicker guy in the chest/shoulder area and i feel like my diet is what is keeping me from obtaining that size i want and what would help me lift more in the gym.. i lift 5 days a week and i eat about 2 protein shakes a day (40g in each) and i eat about 2500=3000 calories.. as you can tell im a hard gainer.. any ideas on how to gain some serious weight or what a good diet is for a weightlifter? in order to get big but stay lean? :strong:

If you want to get big and stay lean, it will take a LONG time. It's much easier if you pick one or the other. Aka23 has a good slow bulk going. And I mean SLOW.

If you want size, just eat a lot. If 3000 cals isn't doing it for you then maybe 4000 or 5000, especially if you are a hardgainer. HomeYield is a hardgainer and he has put on some incredible mass. Check out his journal as well.

Lot of Calories, 5k+ ,

Squat, Deadlift,BenchPress.

Focus On Compound Mouvement and try to lift more each session while keeping good form.

Forget about Isolation mouvement.

That might be a little overkill.

Try adding more fat to your diet and bump those cals up to 3500.

that will work for muscle too? not just adding fat on?
i want to basically build a muscular frame, with some leanness?
