View Full Version : Ice Cold training facility
it's almost been a year since i've posted here, and i took a 180 degree turn since my last journal, so i figure i'll start a new one.
i have a full power meet coming up on oct 9th. i lift in the apa-wpa
some goals for that meet are
about 2 months ago i tested my max squat at 600(with suit and knee wraps)
and around the same time pulled 525(suited) but i know this was on a bad day and have much more than that in me.
about a month ago 390 went halfway up but drifted out to my stomach and i ended up dropping it on me, this was the first time using a shirt, and not my shirt
it was Eeli Mard's shirt, he is the man that started it all for me in powerlifting
he's 68 and still pulling 550 off the ground and benching 345 give or take a couple of lbs. i think he has 6 world records now. anyways much love to him for showing me how it's done.
i'll start with this weekends workouts, that actually are a little different than what i normally do.
military press barbell 135/10 185/10 225/1+1forced 205/7 205/4 135/12
BB rows 135/8 225/10 275/8+30 second hold 315/3
T bar rows 3p/8 5p/8 6p/2 7p/0
db shrugs /db shoulder press palms facing in 70lbs 10/10 75 10/5 75 10/6
only 1/4 of normal DE day but i had done some of it the night before
Bench 8sets of 3 reps fast)explosive 225lbs(60%max) alternating mid close and wide grips
close grip 245/8 245/5 245/4
Dips +45 4/2/2
oh yes i forgot to mention that i'm weighing in right around 275 at 5'10 actually want to get just below 250, but who knows
wind sprints 50 yard sprint, 50 yard walk done 5 times
tire tossing right form the sprints i flipped the tire 7 times ( i have a 600lbs tractor tire in my back yard hehe and a guy i know at the gym said he can get me a 400-500lb sled that i could strap a harness to and drag that mutha around)
5 min break
set of 5 wind sprints
tire flip 6 times.

wsup big kookie!!! man its been FOREVER since i last talked to u homeboy, its been the longest...good to see u back tho, n i kno wat u mean, i'm back up in here too
and DUDE, ur lifts are crazy...for real, u must be goin psycho wit that liftin, thas hella tight tho....keep up the good work, straight pimpin on those weights for real

and i'm out!! tomorrow im going to new orleans! ill be back tuesday hopefully i dont have to do battle with any hurricanes down there

Have fun in N'Orleans bro.
i'm back from the dirty dirty south. boy those cats know how to cook it up down there
and at about 5 pm every night while i was there it poured like a muther trying to wash the puke smell off of bourbon st.(it never worked though) it always only lasted 20 minutes
i'll get a training session in tonight so i'll post it later

everything felt heavy today, pretty frustrated about it but life goes on, oh yea and why don't i post my diet? cuz it sux lately. i should completely figure out what im going to eat and actually lately i dont think that i'm eating enough, some day i'll figure it all out
jtyrell: thanx man but truely my friends that i lift with(only once in awhile due to all of our schedules being out of whack(i usually lift alone)) all of these guys would seem small in comparison to me, but it dont matter, these guys pound for pound are destroying me, they all say that they are trying to get big like me but forget that i'm just trying to get as strong as them

justin: thanx man, we had fun, the place is krazy, in the french quarter people walk around 24 hours a day with a beer in hand, bourbon st. it's something you gotta see to believe, you walk down that street 1 block and you know why they call it the dirty south.
and advice to anyone that goes down on bourbon st. when you hit somewhere around the 800-900's (8th or 9th block) and all you see are good looking males outside of the bars......turn the hell around with the quickness. yes you guessed it ... at that point all i saw were gay bars.
