08-20-2004, 12:41 PM
hhah, have to bring up the height. Im 5'7. And to bill, ya im hitting my legs also, quads and abs got their day, and then hams and calves. Once they get a lil more tanned ill post some shots of em. I have some in my journal.

debussy
08-20-2004, 01:29 PM
holy **** man... i have a feeling youre gonna have some excess fat to deal with after your bulk. how heavy are you going to go with this bulk... all the way up to 200?

BigNic
08-20-2004, 01:46 PM
well i ship off soon, so ill bulk on around 5 all way to 215 after i get out of basic. I doubt ill get too fat as i do eat fairly clean. About 3 k of my calories are being drinken. Anyway i dont really care too much if i get fatter, asl ong as its nothign ridiculous.

Looking good man.

On another note, I think its funny. If you scroll up to the beginning of the thread you'll see where BCC posted. Compare his avatar to BigNic's which is right below it. BigNic, no offense, but BCC blows you out of the water with that back shot. Having said that, BCC is one of the biggest people I have seen on here, so that's normal. BigNic, you look really lean, it looks good man. You've got some massive arms. Keep it up.

BigNic
08-20-2004, 06:19 PM
i actually did notice that. Your right, i pretty much got owned. Not trying to sound arrogant, but give me a few years and ill be something freaky.

rafe
08-20-2004, 07:23 PM
Looking good big guy. Back and arms are massive for you size imho, and you're pretty lean too, your abs are ripped. And your back...I'm motivated now to give mine some extra loving now.

Just curious, how long did it take you to get where you are now, or were you always big?

Good luck in basic.

thanks man. no i used to be pretty small. I weighed 125 when i started. Ive been lifting for about 2 years. I started at the end of my freshmen year, and i just finished my junior year altho i took some classes and am done with school now. so i guess two years of lifting, but honestly only about 5 mos of doing it right. My real progress came when i joined this site. Before that training was inconsistent, poorly planned, diet was wayy too lowww, and i kept being interupted by periods of crazy cutting due to wrestling. Id gain weight, then cut a lot of it off for wrestling. When i joined this site i weighed 145. So ive gained almost 30 lbs. Just the advice of people on this board, and getting my diet in check has helped me a lot. My current goal is to get up to 215, altho my long term is 240 or so. Sorry for this long ass post.

Gabrielle

sublime99
08-21-2004, 08:48 AM
Yeah you better bulk now because when you ship your gonna loose alot of weight IE. Lean mass, i lost 12 lbs lean body mass when i shipped and that was just over a 3 month period. They run you to death i thought about a typical day and you burn in a day something like 10,000 cals and only take in about 4,00 a day. :bang:

Wow, 30 lb gain, that's awesome. And thanks for replying, stories like yours are good motivation for guys like me looking to get bigger. My biggest hurdle is still eating enough cals, but outside of that I'm doing well.

ya rafe, just keep it up and youll do fine. And sublime, thats exactly what im most worried about.

I like your physique, boost the protein and do more cardio, you'll be even better

BigNic
08-21-2004, 05:08 PM
thanks man, although i dont feel like cardio has much place in bulking, as my metabolism is pretty fast anyhow. I am doing some now to prepare for basic

JTyrell710
08-21-2004, 05:13 PM
haha bcc avatar makes you look tiny, which is respectable because bcc makes anyone else look non-existant.
your lookin big, how much cardio are you doin to prep yourself?

BigNic
08-21-2004, 06:52 PM
trying to run a mile and a half bout 4 days a week. Not too much , but just to get my body back used to it. I used to do a lot of cardio.

chris mason
08-21-2004, 07:02 PM
You look good, especially your back. Why are you doing all of that running?

BigNic
08-21-2004, 07:05 PM
chris- i recently joined the military, im doing it to prepare for bootcamp. Personally, for bodybuilding purposes, i dont see an point. Especially when trying to bulk.

chris mason
08-22-2004, 06:19 AM
Well, that is a very good reason to be doing all of that running :o) . Good luck in the military! Which branch?

bill
08-22-2004, 07:29 AM
Nic work on distance for the military also. Good luck in the military and if theres someone that can yell at u as u run its even better.

MM

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a prick about asking your height. I'm tall and sort of want to know what's possible for someone with my body type who does not use droids. You look absolutely fantastic.

08-26-2004, 07:55 PM

BigNic
09-06-2004, 05:01 PM

They're looking good man. Fill in your inner thighs a little and it will make quite a difference.

BigNic
09-11-2004, 10:22 AM
anything you would suggest for the inner thighs chase?

BCC
09-11-2004, 10:35 AM
Actually lying leg curls (yes it's a hamstring exercise) done with a dumbbell in between your feet. You may have to get someone to help you out with this. With lighter dumbbells you can usually stand it up on the floor, put your feet around it and pick it up with them as you lie down on your stomach on a bench. It can also be done on a decline bench. When you really squeeze and contract, you'll see why it benefits the inner thighs.

BigNic
09-11-2004, 10:42 AM
ya id seen that you did those in your old journal, ill give em a try. Thanks man

BigNic
09-28-2004, 02:43 PM

GMCtrk
09-28-2004, 05:34 PM
I would focus primarily on your chest and legs simply to get in proportion with your massive lats, and your arms. Looking great! You are pretty much where I want to be right now. I am about at your physique just with about 10 lbs less lean muscle mass (~160lbs)

BigNic
09-28-2004, 05:45 PM
ya i know what you mean about the lagging legs and chest are compared with my lats. But my arms are actually not that big. Just about 16.

BigNic
09-30-2004, 08:53 AM
actually a quarter inch less than 16, i measured

chris mason
09-30-2004, 10:00 AM
Looking good Nic!

BigNic
09-30-2004, 11:43 AM
thanks chris, i think i have similar body type to you. Youve said before that you think you have good genetics for back and arms, and not so good for chest. Now i just gotta reach my full potential

bill
09-30-2004, 06:04 PM
Yes it looks like you have those lats that tie in to you hamstrings like Chris.

BigNic
10-01-2004, 08:19 AM
lol ya im a pretty short guy. I am currently less then 170. Im not so sure its decieving, my back is just a lot bigger then the rest of me.

10-10-2004, 07:27 PM
Hard to see much difference from the those earlier in the thread. But you're still one big guy, hard to believe you're just 5'7". Unreal back, and arms and chest are pretty decent too, imo. You have a similar build to a friend of mine, he's 5'6" and built like a bull, very wide shoulders, I think he's bigger but you're more cut. Keep it up dude!

Big J
10-10-2004, 08:10 PM
You're definately in great shape. You remind me of a fighter, not overally big but definately not small w/ a low body fat level. Keep it up bro.

You've got a great back!

Big J
10-21-2004, 10:46 PM
Well your back is looking awesome bro, but if i had to pick a part that was laggin I would say it would be your lats. It looks like your lower back & traps are more developed than the thickness & width of your lats. So I would say if you wanted to focus on a specific part it would be your lats. Wide-Grip chins, lat pull-downs, lat rows, lat pull-overs, and rows will all help. Although I'm sure I dont need to tell you that. If you didnt say just your back I woulda said your forearms are the ones laggin, haha.

What you weighin now bro?

BCC
10-21-2004, 11:36 PM
I agree with Big J, Nic. You're a lot like me where your erectors overpower your lats.

Also, your calves look good in that picture too.

BigNic
10-22-2004, 08:07 AM
thanks guys, now that ive thought about it i can see what you mean about my erectors. Altho big j, in my opinion regular width chins are more beneficial because of the longer rom. Im definitely gonna be nailing the hell outta my lats with bb rows and pullups.

I've heard that from a lot of people. Just in my personal experience wide-grips seem to focus on & work more lats than closer grips. Close grip seem to work more bisceps than anything. Although I do do both exercises, so I dunno.
