Hey guys

I've been lurking around here for a while now trying to learn something, but I need to show you what the problem is. I'm a complete beginner and I don't really know where to start - I'm pretty skinny, except for my gut (http://www.iownjoo.com/freeimghost/lachlantrent/thegut.JPG), which as you can see is pretty big. I'm not trying to get too big, just get some definition and lose the belly, so where should I start? I know I have to get rid of the fat but the problem is there isn't any muscle underneath. Any :help: would be appreciated, thanks!

Restrcit your diet, especially kicking out foods high in both simple carbs and fat. If you drink a lot of soda, you should probably stop doing so. And exercise, combining weight lifting and cardio. Look at the Wannabebig routines for a primer on the lifting part of things. Most importantly, stick with it!.

Good luck!

uh .... that is it relaxed. I can suck it in pretty far so you can't even tell it's there, but I'm getting sick of doing that, and if I don't there's a bulge in my t-shirt.

What's a GH gut?

That's pretty strange.. I've never seen a gut that size on someone with (comparably) small breasts and arms..

I know, it's freakish, that's why I want to get rid of it! I took another couple of pics to show I'm not sticking my stomach out or anything, it's all flab:

How old are you? How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

You really just need to start working out and watching your diet. That's all it'll really come down to. Eat right and lift hard. Your body will even things out if the demand is there for it to.

Yeah, I know I have to improve my diet, cut out all the bad junk food. I used to be quite skinny, but with a pudgy midsection, until this year when I moved so much closer to university and didn't do half the walking that I used to every day. My diet stayed just as bad, and my belly basically just started growing.

Would cycling be good exercise to help shift the fat? I have an exercise bike at home I could start using.

Nah, like I said, it's fat. I eat so much junk food and get practically no exercise (both of which I'm gonna fix now). I just seem to store all my fat there.

It won't take 6-12 months to lose the gut will it? I'm determined to see it through, but still, that's a long time, heh.

BBing is a marathon, not a sprint (although sprints can be an effective form of cardio:) ) so it may take that long, but at 21 I wouldn't sweat it.

well nows the best time to get rid of it, altho i must say thats quite an odd way your body has for storing fat.

You also need to start lifting weights. Just cycling or walking won't really do it.
