Hey folks, im 18, 170lbs, 5'8", around 13-14% BF and deciding to bulk. I would cut given my body fat, but seeing as i can only bench 200 i am deciding to bulk not for a given amount of time, but until i can bench at least 250 (along with some other lifts that are less than stellar, but the bench is what dissapoints me the most, i DO lift all body parts) My question is, given my age and activity level (lifting 3-4days per week, HIIT one day/week), how many cals should i be consuming? Is it really up around 3500-4000 like some ppl reccomend? I would like to think so but i dont wanna blow up like a baloon during the bulk...

Bench 200 how? 1 rep max or for sets? If its max, I seriously doubt you need to gain much weight to reach 250. If it's for reps, then that might be different.

my max is 200, i want my max to be 250. and i ment as in like, eating that many cals in order to build muscle? is 4000 too much for my age and activity level or is it within reason? should i lower it?

Well as I said before, if you want to gain weight to be bigger that's fine, but to be stronger isn't really neccessary. I'm sure you could increase that max w/o gaining much weight.

but make sure u dont go under yer cals for the day, coz cutting can worsen lifting in my experience, only on the pec deck for me tho :p
