Im desperately in need of a good protein powder.
I get short 15 min breaks @ work and i need to mix up 30-40g of protein to have with a simple high cal meal.

Im lactose intolerant and dont cope with milk or yoghurts etc.

ive read a lot of bad press about soy isolate, plus i know its a slow digesting protein hence no good for post w/o.

The only thing i can find atm is promax whey powder which claims to be virtually lactose free, its also V expensive £29.00 ($55) for 905g (1.8lbs)

Anyone help me plz?

hi btw im new! :hello:

yer its pretty expensive what ive found about £10 (33%) more than usual
and it seems to be in milkshake flavours which i find very sickining (sweet- ick :alcoholic ) since i cant mix them with milk wont mixing with water be 10 times worse?

There's also egg protein. Soy is not nearly so bad as people make out.

As far as slow digestion of soy or egg protein, just have a pre and post workout shake.

yes, it is more expensive, however you get a greater concentration of proteins and less byproduct (ash/lactose/fat).

Milk tends to sweeten shakes, using water would make it less sweet.
Whey protein isolate is extremely common, keep looking I'm sure you'll find a flavor you like! good luck!

Whey protein isolate
natural flavour
no sweetners (aspartame + phenylalanine and alike)
available in the uk for fast despatch
and roughly £25 per kg

you could always try these protein customizing companies... and maybe one of the other uk'rs on the board will give you a hollar soon.

i'm lactose intolerant also.Try mixing your protein with soymilk, its a great lactose free alternative and it tastes the same as regular milk only a little sweeter.the brand called silk makes it in regular, vanilla, and chocolate. And i have heard that isopure made by natures best tastes pretty good with water but i think its fairly expensive, around $40 or so at gnc.
