i take melatonin almost nightly, maybe 5 nights weekly, maybe 1-2 mg, usually 1. is it cool to take melatonin long term? i don't always *need* it, but it just helps me fall asleep and have better sleep. there's no problems i know of, but wondering if anyone else knew any

I won't take it two days in a row
I *believe* the concern is that you can become dependant on it and not be able to sleep without it
I also find that taking it a few times a week keeps me going to bed earlier and sleeping well all week

i usually end up taking it if i either woke up late that day or had anything with caffeine

yeah that sounds logical
I know shift workers that only take it when they go from week to week
