i was taking creatine for about 2 months and last week i had to go for a minor operation, they had to put me to sleep so i told them iv been taking creatine for a few months, so they asked the doctors and they had no idea what it was, in the end they rang up drugs advice line who told them "creatine is a liver damager and can cause permanent damage" so they wouldnt do the operation incase i dont come round when its finished, they were taking my blood and everything to test for damage.

do you think there going over the top?

ive found this
* What is this I hear about liver and kidney damage with creatine?

This can be a problem if you abuse creatine. Any creatine your body does not use is excreted as a waste product called creatinine. If you take 20 grams a day of creatine - your body will not be able to use most of it and will have to excrete the excess. Over time this constant excretion of creatinine can put a lot of work on your kidneys and liver. If you force them to work to hard that can lead to serious problems.

I was looking for the smiley holding the sign that says "BS" but I guess that is on another board. I don't buy this post for a second.

sadly I do

the amount of actual Dr's that think creatine is bad is scary

the drugs advice line is primarily made up of people with no formal medical training at all

Dr's are taught to look for signs like elevated creatinine levels as indicators of damage

so when bb's have elevated levels it's not like they will take the time to actually understand the situation (there is no money in that)

now that i have stopped taking it for a bit iv noticed a dramatic change, before when say i could do a set of 10 comfortably, i can only do a set of 6 or 8 at a big push,

exactly! you would think a person who studied medicine almost for half of his life would know that really surprises me!
