Have either of you tried german volume training and did you get results.
Or do you know much about it and how well it works.
Or do you think I should try size surge?

I have never tried it and don't really know anything about it. It sounds like a lot of horse**** to me! Anytime a system or product is preceded by German or Russian you can be pretty sure it is a gimmicky waste of time.

Hey! Just Chris or Cack? C'mon! I'll give you my 1.5 cents on it. It works alright. Just do it if you've tried everything else. 10 sets of 10 will promote growth. Don't do it for too long. Overtraining will be a HUGE issue with routines like this.

Chris why do you say that, the Russians are the leaders as far as strenght lifting is concerned, most of the top coaches have based thier philosphies around the russinas training methods.
Are you familiar with Vershiosky(sp) why are you so quick to cast judgement on what you have little or nil knowledge of?

Ah, my friend Mac, always looking for controversy. I say that because it is a marketing gimmick that a lot of companies use. A lot of people (seemingly you included) think that if something came from Russia it must be some "secret" training technique etc. In most cases, it is just something Jimmy Bob thought of and slapped with the Russian or German tag. I'm sure there are some legitimate routines, products etc. out there form these countries, but most are buptkus!

I see,I thought that you were leaning towards the fact that the Russains training methods were bogus.
No controversy here.

i just now noticed this post.
GVT actually worked well for me. i couldn't take it for that long though, way too boring. i did it for 6 weeks and needed a change.
my back and legs seemed to respond well, but the rest of my body didn't respond as well, not sure why.
worth a try if you love to train, don't get bored very quick, and need a change.
