I'm currently cutting. I'm 5'11 183LBS, would like to loose 10 more pounds. I lift 4 times a week. My thought is to do 10-12minutes of Cardio 4 times a week in the AM. I lift in the PM. Will 10min of Cardio 4 times of week do much in terms of weight loss? Or should it be much longer?

Thanks.

I'm no cardio expert, but let me tell you what I know.

If you are only going to do 10 - 12 minutes, try sprint training instead. Honestly 10 - 12 minutes really isn't going to do that much for you, I've always heard if you are jogging you need to do at least 20 - 25 minutes for any results.

Like said above if you are short on time look into sprint training.

I'm sure others on the board can hel you out as well.

I was thinking of doing HIIT on an Eliptical Trainer...30 sec intervals of light resistance then heavy resistance maintaining same speed.

if you can pullout 3 times a week of 20 to 40 mins of cardio will help

instead try going for an hour at the usual suggested 60-75% max heart rate.

10-12 miniutes really isnt enough to burn a significant amount of fat.

remember at all times you are burning a combination of fats, carbs and protein..

assuming you are on an tmpty stomach youll be burning fat, glycomed and muscle respectivley.

if you are eating youll be burning consumed fat, glycomed (gradually replnished by sustinence) and consumed protein, respectivley.

so try to get an extra 500+ cals burned every workout, then you will start seeing a difference.
