Hey guys, I am on a cutting diet right now. Would it be ok/healthy to replace oatmeal somedays with Total Protein Cereal?

Sure. Oats are a better choice than cereal, but mixing it up for a while won't hurt.

I bought my first box of "Total Protein" cereal a while back. It satisfies my occasional need for a bowl or cereal with milk.
Oats are a good choice if youre bulking Id guess. A comparison:
1 cup regular oats: 350 calories, 12g protein
1 cup steelcut oats: 600 calories, 26g protein
1 cup Total Protein: 147 calories, 19g protein

What kind of oats are you eating that are 600 calories/cup? Any oats I've ever seen are about 350 cals/cup.

Vido, I got the 600 calories on a brand of steel-cut oats which are denser. The flat-type oats most of us eat are about 350 calories per cup but also only 12g of protein. Ive modified my post instead of adding a new one..
Thanks for bringing that up.

I did not mention serving size.
A serving for me is one cup of Total Protein or 1/2 cup of regular Oats, so the calories come out the same. If you dont care about the difference of 13g of protein, you might as well save your money and buy oats as Vido suggested, which have also proven to be a long time health food.
