okay heres the deal, im about 168 and i want to put on 20 pounds. My ideal permanent weight would be around 190. What i plan on doing is keeping the diet clean(with some more cheat meals added here and there) and taking weight gainer which i took before to help me gain.

i figure as long as i keep the diet clean, i shouldnt get that round overlapping gut right?(That looks disgusting)

You'll get a little pudgy in the midsection if you bulk for a while, but I've gained 45lbs on a bulk and sitll had my abs somewhat visible

what was your diet like on that bulk?

I basically ate anything and everything I could get my hands on. It's not the most efficient way of doing things, but I have a really fast metabolism so I did what I had to do, cutting was easy though

The way I understand it, when you bulk you put on some muscle and some fat, so depending on how much fat you put on, and where it goes, you'll end up with a gut. You can always cut afterwards and get rid of it.

I have a really slow metab and I've went from 170 to nearly 190 since July 15 till now. I've put on a lot of mass. I've gained some fat and my waist is arounf 34 inches now but my arms are about 16 and I'm overall getting bigger. I am far from fat but I am thick and a little pudgy. I'm probably 14% now. I'm bulking on up to 200 and then doing a slow cut to 180.

Keaping your diet clean won't prevent a gut from developing.

The way to do that is by bulking very slowly and training hard. Try to gain about a pound every other week and you'll stay pretty lean.

you wont necesarily get a gut from bulking man. you might get a little pudgy- and if u go too high in cals, fat, but that doesn't mean you'll specifically get a gut from bulking.

If you develop a large gut from bulking then you are doing something wrong. Everyone needs a different number of calories to grow, but let's just say for example you need 3500. The further you divulge from this number, clean calories or not, the more fat you will gain.

Trust me, once you hit 190, that won't be big enough ;).

once your stomach starts getting too big for you to be comfortable, just start cutting again

hey, offseason is right around the corner, i say get big and have a pudge while u can hide it in a nice sweater, and be huge and lean during springtime. sure, no one wants to put on a gut, but your not gonna get all louie anderson just from bulking a few months. trust me, youll learn to appreciate that gut, i know that sounds odd but its true.
